-> A wide receiver and safety in his days at Ridgefield High, Mitchell (6-foot-2, 235 pounds) was moved to linebacker at UConn and he enters Saturday fourth all-time in program history with 420 tackles. He trails only John Dorsey (495, 1980-83), Lawrence Wilson (449, 2007-10), and Troy Ashley (428, 1986-89).<-

-> Mitchell leads UConn in tackles this season with 95 and is 9.5 average per game ranks 18th nationally. He's had four double-digit tackle games and also returned a fumble for a touchdown against Rice, the Huskies' only win. He's earned an invitation to the Hula Bowl, which is scheduled for Jan. 13, 2024 in Orlando, Florida. The event was moved there from Hawaii in 2022.<-
