Kentucky - bright lights and Top 5

Connecticut - has to turned into meh. Will be meh for foreseeable future.

Painful to write that.

He will go to UK, never suit up, go through their the spring combine and off to the NBA. Take the money and run young fella.
He probably figures what's the point of playing for UK since it's inevitable that the results will have to be vacated down the line and his stats will all be erased anyway.

Okay so it's totally Wild on the information that i am getting this morning. There are 5 people that I mine information from regularly that I think are pretty reliable.(a few others are guessing at best). Two of them says Kentucky two of them says UConn(one is on the fence) and one says he will end up in the NBA

If he goes to the land of sleazebag coaches and toothless fans, does it make it easier for the administration to fire Ollie this year instead of giving him one more year?

God, this forum is full of losers. This kid is about to make the biggest decision of his life and grown men are acting like 12 year olds because it looks like he's not going to choose to put on the laundry we prefer to root for. Sad!
You realize how much effort the staff has put into this kid, right? Talk to Oz. Diallo has lead our coaches to believe we were his choice for a very long time. If he picks another school, he will have jerked us around for 2+ years and potentially cost us other recruits.

So let me get this straight. Never saw him play. Everyone is freaking out about a kid who is not a good shooting wing by all reports. He may or may not play this semester and will not be around after next year?
What is the fuss all about ?
Next!

If nothing else, even if he came to UConn and didn't play, and then went to the draft, he would be an NBA talent whose player card said "College: Connecticut". That is literally enough for it to mean something, hence, fuss...

I agree with the consensus that with the big announcement planned, it seems highly likely it's Kentucky. The more we got to know the kid it seemed he was more and more Hollywood which I felt didn't bode well for us

It hasn't happened yet so who knows right? But if it does it's kind of like your GF of 2 years has been waiting for the senior prom the 2 of you will attend but this good looking, rich kid decides to ask her about a month before the dance and she says "Yes" and loses her virginity to him also. Other than that it will be fine.

Best part of this thread is all the stragglers coming in now after 98 pages to give us their scouting report.
We are not all stragglers. I read all 2914 posts before posting myself. Yes I am as delusional as everyone else.

Let's make a pact to let any HD thread die immediately after the announcement if he doesn't select us. We've litigated this for months. Do we need another 2000 plus thread on how Diallo duped us or how Ollie put all his eggs in the wrong basket. I vow to ignore any thread about Hamidou if he selects Kentucky. Hope everyone has the willpower to do the same.

The news that Hami doesn't plan on playing this season (but he's already left school) is the most telling piece of info for me. He would probably struggle to crack the rotation at Kentucky, especially joining mid-season, but would slot right in here. It wouldn't make much sense for him to come here just to practice when he could be getting much more valuable game reps.

Not expecting good news Saturday, but you never know. Maybe we get lucky here. Either way, let's remember that he's a high school kid and doesn't deserve all the vitriol he's going to receive from our fans if he chooses Kentucky (and has already received from a bunch of people on this forum and twitter).

ehhh, I'm not going to say he deserves vitriol, but if it's fair criticism he can take it. If it was between us and another team where he'd actually play a ton and get to showcase his talents, its all the same... If he'd rather go to the loaded behemoth where he can literally be a one-trick pony while other specialists handle the other facets of the game and have some flaws hidden while still playing, it's in a way taking the easier path. It's the LeBron'ing of basketball after the big 3 in Miami

If you're really a big time phenom, a transcendent talent, go somewhere where you're a main focus of the team and prove it

Did you think Andre Drummond was taking the easy way out in 2012? We were coming off of a national championship and had a ton of talent on that team.

I'm not saying you can't criticize the kid at all; it would be kind of annoying if he basically gave a soft commit, spent all his time hanging out on campus with the team and coaching staff, then decided last minute he wasn't coming here...but some of the stuff people here have written about a high school kid is crossing the line and just screams sour grapes.

Putting a coach on the firing line is a sure way to get recruits not to come here. Enjoy your Diaco after that.
