The Springfield Republican has a nice wrap-up article on the classic held annually at Springfield
College over the MLK weekend. The boys' event...Saturday thru Monday..is the best in the land.
Two incoming UConn recruits on the guy-side played well....very well....Adams of Brewster Academy and
Enoch of St. Thomas More.
The girls' side on Friday had the feature game of Capital Prep versus South Medford Oregon.
In the past UConn fans have gotten to see future Huskies at this event like Lorin Dixon, Tina Charles, Elena Delle Donne, KML, Breanna Stewart and LouConn. Those players coming to Springfield is no accident. The director has made regular attempts to attract their high school teams to our area in hopes of getting UConn fans in the house...my impression is those efforts have been rewarded. It is a great treat
to see our incoming in person.
He says planning for January 2016 is already underway. Hmmm....Crystal...Kyla Irwin...here's hoping!
