I've always wonder how really old people 'do it'. They look at their partner and think/say "You WERE so hot!" I imagine Viagra makes it a bit easier.
.....at least for the man....

Indiana Culvers are not nearly as good as Wisconsin Culvers.

And Florida Culver's are the worst. Kinda tough to have good deep-fried cheese curds when they've been shipped and stored frozen for a few weeks.

Blonde hair and taut skin is just a light switch away.

Unfortunately, given the demographics of the womens board, you're probably getting a penis as part of the package. Fortunately, given the demographics of the womens board, it probably won't work.

I'm also in Indiana, near South Bend, but am originally from Waterbury, CT. It's Kentucky and farther south that marries their cousins and have no teeth or farther north as in Vermont.

Couldn't be any more true. Went to Vermont a few weeks ago and stopped at a convenience store. Both workers had their 4 front teeth missing!

Manchester is a decent hub with decent access to anywhere you'd wanna go in CT. As far as pizza goes may as well go to Wooster St in either Storrs or Manchester. Pizza is basically the Dominoes version of New Haven Style but the wings are so good particularly in Manchester. Storrs one however is BYOB. CT is host to many breweries if thats your thing but nothing too great in that area. Two Roads likely makes a great beer in your favorite style and it'll be available at any packy (store where the booze is).

I always get a kick out of people feeling like they have to validate how big a fan they are. "I've followed this team since 1963!!!". Trust me, newbie....there are as many old morons on this board as there are young morons.

I know this for a fact!

Hello all,
This is my first time posting on the yard, have for years been a lurker but now decided to post.
I have bled blue since "The Shot", it was the first game I ever watched as a kid, luckily for all of us we have been blessed with many great years of following our team. I currently live in Indiana (never been to Connecticut) and have never been to a game. For many years I had entertained the thought when Notre Dame was in the BE, but couldn't get myself to travel the 3 hour drive and sit amongst that group. Well now my fortunes have changed. I work for a national senior living company and have for the past several years covered the Midwest, but organizational changes have redirected me to cover east coast operations, my job requires me to travel for 20-25 days a month. I found out last night that I will be headed to Manchester, CT in February. So as any of us in this situation would do, I pulled up the schedule and looked for an opportunity to finally get to a game. I will be in town starting on the 7th, which makes the possibility of getting over to campus on the 13th my best option (Tulsa game) if anybody wants to meet up pregame, postgame I would love to meet some yarders. I'm open to any feedback any locals can give.
Welcome aboard. Don't let the crab apples tamp down your joy. The best thing to eat at the GP is a chocolate Sunday from the creamery folks. they are usually by two entrances. Also, the individual pizza's are better than you would expect. When you go the the XL center, be sure to have an ultimate natchos. They are located in one stand, outside of section 104. Enjoy, and welcome the the crazyness of the Bone Yard.

Safely landed and excited to review the pizza and beer threads. Also flew in from Philly and sat right in the middle of the whole UMass team...felt good to rep the UConn sweatshirt though!

Get back to us in a month or so when you finally finish reading that Pizza thread.

Fist of, not every guy in CT is threatened by the women's team. Most of us like them.
Beyond hoops, pizza & beer it depends on what you are into. We have a pretty good art museum in New Haven, a relatively new science museum in Hartford which also has the Mark Twain House. New London has probably the only whaling village /museum in the country and we do have over 100 miles of shoreline.
Fortunately for you we have an expanding number of old people. We have some of the richest neighborhoods and some of the poorest cities in the country. Spring and fall are pretty here.
Glad you came out of the closet, so to speak. I'm going up with an outside the BY crowd on the 13th but I would like to try to find a way to say "Hi".

I still think the Twain house should have a pub in the back with a life size wax statue of Twain, for a 'Have a Drink With Twain' experience.

I highly envy you for living in the land of Culver's and Waffle House.
Don't knock it.
Culver 's is one of the few decent frozen custards out here.
Forget ice cream. Frosts Gelato in San Tan Village is pretty good too.
Alway stop at a Rich's farm ,and Pepes's
Actually the Danbury branch is pretty good.

You guys totally missed the boat here....you needed to ask him to bring 3 Floyds Beer. I'm always amazed that there are UConn fans who have never set foot in the state of Connecticut.

Although reportedly not quite up to the lofty standards of the original New Haven location, you should make sure to get some pizza at the Pepe's in Manchester.

We had a pie from the Mancehster Pepe's last weekend and it was the best I've had in years.
