So my Motorola Droid X isn't updating any apps.

Everything works fine on the phone except when I get a notification to update and existing app (Facebook, Google maps, etc).

I do all the normal stuff and I get the icon on the top left of the screen showing the download starting. After a couple of seconds I get an orange triangle with an exclamation mark inside of it instead of the downloading arrow. When I select the triangle, it shows the app and the downloading bar, but it doesn't download.

Started about a week ago. I took it to the nearest Verizon store and the kid totally didn't earn his paycheck. He pulled the battery out to reset and when that didn't work he suggested taking it to the bigger store 30 minutes away.

I checked the owner's manual and Droid X site for FAQ's or suggestion and nothing.

Can the Boneyard work its magic?

First, I'll assume that you don't have Data Saver set.

    Second, give this a whirl...

In order, go to Menu -> Settings -> Manage Applications -> All

    Go down to Market Updater.

Clear the cache and force stop.

    Do the same for Market.

    Restart the phone.

    Try to update some apps.

If that doesn't work, repeat those steps and then...

Go to Settings ->Power -> and then uncheck the box that refers to fastboot.

    Restart the phone.

    Report back.

    Thanks.

I won't say which step fixed it.

But you know what they say about assuming.

I don't have any idea how or when that got checked.

Good saying...when you hear hoofbeats, think horses, not zebras.

    It's usually something simple.
