I've always heard the saying that defense wins championships, and that a good defense will stop a good offense. Does that work in college? If you take the best offense and put if up against the top ranked defense, who has the advantage (igoring the othe side of the ball for both teams)?

With teams in the Big12 putting up 60-70 points against conference mates, it would suggest that there's not much defense being played. Is the offense is that good, or is the defense that porous?

Understanding the complaints about our conservative playcalling, is it preferable to win a game 70-63, or 13-0? In the NFL, it seems people can appreciate stifling defenses (Bears, Steelers, Giants). That doesn't seem to be the case in college.

I dunno, Alabama's defense sure seems to win them a few games here and there.
