After a hiatus for the early part of 2015, the Dishin & Swishin podcasts are back on Hoopfeed, and we must say it is good to be back!


There is so much going on in the women’s basketball world, with the NCAA season hitting the stretch run and the WNBA beginning their preparations with free agency underway.


This week, it is time to talk a little WNBA with the veteran leader of the Connecticut Sun, Katie Douglas. Douglas was recently selected to join the Purdue University Hall of Fame, an honor well-earned during her illustrious career that culminated in an NCAA championship.

Nice interview.

She shed some light on what the players deal with salary wise by playing the WNBA. They have to stay in condition and it's hard for them to get good jobs when they have to take the summer off to play.

Honestly they don't get much of my sympathy... Many would welcome their salary year round. And often they do a job that's actually important...

The players without seniority get a very small salary. It has to last them all year if they don't go overseas.

The key is televised games IMO. If they can get interest in those then higher salaries will follow. Longer postseason series would be a good start.
