We need to get back to the days of getting "kills" - 3 possessions in a row with stops on the defensive end. For some reason we went to a zone and it limited what we can do. The gambling and jumping passing lanes only to come up empty is on conditioning. We have the inability to keep anyone in front without fouling.

The sloppiness on both ends of the floor is on our conditioning. When you're fatigued you make both physical and mental errors which continually come front and center with our guards in big spots.

It's not all X"s and O's folks, get in better shape and the decision making will improve. Go Huskies!!

What game were you watching?? Syracuse scored 8 points from the 10:10 mark of the second half to the 1:38 mark when UConn started fouling. That is 8 points in almost a 9 minute stretch. The defense was there in the second half. Lots of pressure and lots of Syracuse turnovers. The opportunity for a total comeback was there. The problem was that during that same stretch UConn only scored 13 points. Diarra’s missed free throws and the inability to create good scoring opportunities on a consistent basis quelched the comeback.

Yes, but we gave up 39 in the first half as they shredded the man to man.

Much of that 2nd half defensive stretch was pressure man to man that rattled Syracuse a bit. Howard had a miserable game (1-11 from the field and 8 turnovers). The difference between the 1st and 2nd half was the defensive intensity.

The same game you were watching when we gave up easy bucket after easy bucket in the first half in the zone. Yes our defense picked up when we went to man to man but the game was already lost.

The NBA approach of coasting in the first half to conserve energy for the 2nd half is alarming. We continually do it and lose bc of it game after game.

We need to fix this issue and maintain the energy for 40 minutes. It's a mentality and a fitness grind.
