I think I remember reading somewhere on the board that the staff had watched Abbie.

Yes, Geno et al. had watched Abbie.

Kaila Charles could be a very good one. She and her team have terrorized the DC area the past 2 years. When DJB was a junior, her team lost only 2 games, both to Roosevelt. The playoff game, when DJB got into early foul trouble, was very one-sided, like 60-30 or so.

Saw some highlights of Abbie Wolf...........Good player with good size. I had thought Geno and UConn were interested. Wolf should start early at Northwestern based on talent and ability to play the 4 or 5.

Nice pickups for NW and Maryland. I thought I read Abby was really interested in the ivies - particularly Stanford. Seems like a good kid and a good player. Should help NW in their league...

  1. The eight institutions are Brown University,Columbia University, Cornell University,Dartmouth College, Harvard University, theUniversity of Pennsylvania, Princeton University, and Yale University. The term Ivy League has connotations of academic excellence, selectivity in admissions, and social elitism.

Northwestern likely is a good level for her, although I'm not sure she will start early. As for UConn, she would have had to show enormous improvement over the next few years to ever compete for playing time.

Her local reputation is much better than what we see. It's a natural choice for a kid from the area. The arena is one of the nicest in the country.

Frese and Maryland may be UConn's stiffest competition for Megan Walker.

Ugh, just ugh!

To be fair, Maryland has gotten to the Final Four 2 years in a row, well after Jeff Walz left. But Brenda's instruction and in-game decisions are so far below what we see at UConn. And the last I looked, Maryland's academic ranking has slipped to slightly below that of UConn.

Maryland was seemingly the runner up for Napheesa Collier.

Too bad for Princeton that they couldn't get Abbie, who would have been a legacy. McKeown is a good coach, and the B1G competition is better than the Ivy competition.
