Gonna use this thread for news around college basketball.

Trier on AZ still not eligible, but no explanation yet:

Wow, the NCAA really needs to come to conclusions faster to avoid this whole mess. I remember last year Cheick Diallo didn't even play the first couple games of the year.

I posted in the UConn as a Final4 sleeper thread last night but deleted my post because it involved other teams I felt were sleepers. So did not want to hijack the thread.

It is great having a general discussion thread. I think several here will enjoy it.

    Thx

To me, if you want to look at a conference that is waaay up for grabs this year, it's the Big Ten. Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio State, MSU, Iowa, Purdue, Maryland, and Indiana all seem like they could conceivably win the conference and then proceed to get dump-trucked in the round of 64 by Stephen F. Austin.

Isn't Trier a sophomore? I'm not sure it's similar really.

Neither did Boat. By the time they handed down their 6 game suspension he had served 3 or so already

Yeah, but what can the NCAA do to avoid it? He's already in college, he's just a lousy student apparently.

Wow, this Armed Forces Classic. High level stuff especially in this second game. We were supposed to be a few teams worse than Indiana and MSU?

    lol

My dad and I both had the thought of wondering how terribly we'd had been beaten if we played any of these teams.

Check out the box score of the UCLA game.

119 points, 61% shooting, 18-30 from three, 29 assists on 42 fgs, and 11 offensive rebounds to boot.

I know it's "only" against Pacific, but that's some serious offensive efficiency.

Pretty much the opposite of what we saw from UConn tonight.

Do what in the off season? What did the NCAA not do?

In other news, Terrence Samuel has scored eight points in two games for Penn State. I'll always love him, but seems like he's still the same player.

Two freshman I'm very impressed with: Lonzo Ball and Markelle Fultz. UCLA is going to be a force this season. They're starting 5 (Alford, Hamilton, Ball, Leaf, Welsh) is extremely talented. The only question mark on that team is defense. Fultz looks like he could be in a similar situation as Ben Simmons last year. Incredibly talented player but questionable supporting cast.

Temple lost to New Hampshire last night. This will make it more funny when we somehow get swept by Temple again.

#1 Duke is down double-digits and getting outplayed by Kansas in the second half.

After our disastrous start, this is some much needed schadenfreude.

What a game that turned out to be. Kennard was huge, but Mason had the onions

    Puke only played six guys

Can Duke move up in the polls after such a highly rated primetime quality loss?

Something about Kansas I don't like but I have to respect this team, Frank Mason especially.
