Best wishes to Charde for a quick and complete recovery and a solid second half of the season!

With 6-8 weeks of recovery time needed, she won't be back until mid-September at the earliest.. Will there be anything left of the season by then?

I read that way too fast. Even 6 weeks will be near the end of the regular season, which is all that seems relevant for the Mercury.

Hokey Smoke!!... The Kirward Derby. Rocky and Bullwinkle. Only us old bustards will remember that, and the reference within the reference Durward Kirby.

Heck I don't remember the Kirwood Derby but, that sounds like Rocky and Bullwinkle. I definitely DO remeber Durwood Kirby. (Was he Gary Moore's sidekick?)

Apropos of little: Does anybody remember Crusader Rabbit? I associate it with R & B and often wondered if it was produced by the same gang. Seriously, I was just a kid then (??1953 - 57??) but thought Crusader had a naughty edge.

Probably a base canard, but rampant rumor has suggested that Durwood was a momma’s boy.

    Who's Durwood and what's a momma's boy?

Yes, I remember Crusader Rabbit. It came on just after Tom Corbitt
Space Cadet ("smokin' rockets, commander!"). They put a little smoke
pellet in the back of Tom's rocket so that it dribbled smoke out the back
as it was pulled through the frame on a string (you could see the string).

It was way beyond cheezy, but when you only budget $10 for special
effects, way beyond cheezy is what you get.

    Ah - early 50's television.
