The title of this thread asks whether Kaleena can become a legendary SHOOTER, not just legendary in and of itself...
Well in that case I would vote a resounding yes. As someone above posted she has one of the prettiest shots and fastest triggers around.

This season will be her greatest season. I expect her to be everywhere and show everybody what a complete player she is, inside and out.

I'll never forget that Taurasi 3/4 court shot (thanks to YouTube) against Tennessee at the halftime buzzer. Granted that probably wasn't her biggest shot in her UConn career, but that was just awesome.

When asked later, "Was that a favorite (shooting) spot on the floor?," she reponded as only Diana could: "Yeah, but shooting at the other basket."

I like KML as much as the next person, but let's be serious. How is she going to have a legacy as a great shooter if she is only the eighth best shooter on the team. The other four starters, Kiah, Morgan and Brianna all had better FG% than KML. TLaw and Moriah had better 3 PT % than KML. If she is healthy next season I expect her to break some UCONN records and lead the NCAA in 3 PT shooting. But until then, I will reserve my opinion for someone who produces. After all, maybe her sophomore year she was just lucky. :);)

Is she legendary because of her prolific 3 point shooting? Can you be legendary for your free throw shooting or shot blocking or any other statistical category where one excels? I don't think so, and that's kind if how I interpreted Geno's comments - there's more to it than just chucking up and making a ton of threes.
Well that was what the OP was about, Legendary Shooter. Not that KML is "legendary" in the sense that DT or Moore are. (that's probably for another thread) But is she a legendary shooter? I'd say yes.

Oops, sorry alex, I should have read further in the thread before posting.

Legendary or not, she has the most beautiful shot I have ever seen. Fluid, efficient body, smooth release, nice high arc, takes forever to come down just to torture the defense, descends out of the clouds and nestles into the nest with a gentle TWISH. We'll never see another one like her's.
IDK, KLS has a very pretty shot also. KML, KLS, hmmmm wonder if there is a connection there? :D

There is not a better basketball player in wcbb than Kaleena. Stewie is more versatile and more explosive because she is longer, but Kaleena matches her in skills.

Give the nod to Stewie as best wcbb player; with her length she can block more shots, snag more rebounds, or dominate in the paint. But Kaleena gives opposing coaches just as many headaches.

I'll call her legendary when Geno does. He tends to have the perspective us fans lack, especially when you're talking about over the history of the program, the first half of which I only know about through reading, ESPN Classic, and YouTube. The hard part about comparing teams/eras is the fact that you take Kaleena off last year's team, they could still win the title, mostly because of the huge interior mismatch advantage UConn had. You take Moore or Taurasi away from their teams and Pat still has the national championship record and by a comfortable margin. Again it's going to be a hard distinction to give because Kaleena's role on the team has never been the same as Taurasi, Moore, or even Stewie. Is she legendary because of her prolific 3 point shooting? Can you be legendary for your free throw shooting or shot blocking or any other statistical category where one excels? I don't think so, and that's kind if how I interpreted Geno's comments - there's more to it than just chucking up and making a ton of threes.
Do you know that Geno hasn't already called her "legendary"? Maybe he has, on multiple occasions. To assume that every remark or comment he has ever uttered in his life is in the public domain is wrong. I'm inclined to think that if you or someone else asked him directly, he'd say yes but maybe that question was never posed to him or if so, it was done privately. KML is the best shooter (in my mind) in the history of the program and as has been mentioned, she's made many, many significant shots that have changed the complexion of important games, despite the fact they may not have occurred in the waning seconds. That doesn't change the importance of them in any way! She's a special kid in so many ways and I'm glad we have her and "THEY" don't!

Same sort of a connection as EDD and DD.

You have to be careful about thse initials, though. DDE was once our Prez. I was surprised when I read that LBJ scored a lot of points in an NBA game. Others can be confusing: e.g., CD, IRA.

Yes, she has said that she wants to be a more complete player and not just a 3 point specialist.

That's why I think she probably won't be setting the NCAA 3 point record.

Stewie is the higher-profile player, but Kaleena is a great player. She was overshadowed in the 2013 Final Four by Stewie, but Kaleena was very good in all 6 tourney games. Stewie missed the first round. Kaleena was stellar again this year.

When she ascends to the top 2 or 3 in UConn scoring this season, people should take notice.
