HUSKY TRACKS -- During Tuesday's controlled scrimmage, all the quarterbacks showed flashes of brilliance as well as some mistakes. It was Neibrich, though, who might have had the best day, hitting Michael Smith on an intermediate pass that the wideout turned into a big play with a nice cut ... Pasqualoni was especially pleased with his team's blitz packages. "I thought we did a good job and made some nice plays on both sides of the ball," he said. ... During UConn's goal-line offense, the Huskies scored touchdowns on successive plays before the defense bounced back with an interception (Jory Johnson could have had himself a 100-yard pick six had he run all the way) and then recovered a fumble by Cochran to end the day ... Pasqualoni said that last fall's kick-off specialist, Chad Christen, has looked good in both PAT and field goal situations this spring ... The end of practice brought some bad news, though. The Hartford Courant reported that D.J. Shoemate, the senior running back who transferred in from USC, saw his career come to a premature end due to a shoulder injury. Pasqualoni confirmed the news. The Courant said Shoemate will continue to be a part of the team through this last week of spring practice and at Saturday's spring game. He'll graduate, however, and will return to his native California.

Silver did a piece as well - I did not like GDL's comments about OL - never want to hear the words "grave concern" when discussing the OL.
