If there was no Cochran rule and he had a coach that would do it, give me 4 quarters and 45 carries. You figure, depending on the opponent, what 650-950 yards?

I'm no where near as informed about CTHS Football as most here and I only know Arkeel because of his crazy numbers.

Please tell me this young man is everything I dream he is.

Wasn't there a post the other day that the Ansonia QB was hurt in a scrimmage? Did he play in this game or did Ansonia not skip a beat without him? Is the QB I'm thinking of Jai'Quan McKnight?

Thanks, Medic. Very happy to hear the kid's not shutdown for the season.
McKnight would have played if they needed him. He has turf toe. He was not injured in the West Haven scrimmage. He suffered turf toe last season and it has flared up. They will rest him whenever possible. They hope to have him close to 100% for their week 3 game against Holy Cross (Wtby). They should be able to rest him next week as well, when they face Sacred Heart (Wtby). Who was beaten 61-6 by Wolcott last night.

In addition to Newsome's 183 yards, Ansonia had a pair of sophomore RBs, Tajik Bagley and Tyler Bailey also run for over 100 yards each, and combined for three TDs.
Bailey finished the night with 132 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries, while Bagley added 118 yards on 12 carries and two touchdowns.

I'm glad to see interest in McKnight for 2015. I like him as a DB at the next level. He had seven INTs last season. I believe he returned four for TDs.

As much as I would like to see Newsome break every reachable record, I have no problem if Coach Brockett has a 10-carry pitch count!

I have seen the kid several times. A blur is an understatement. He breaks legs with his cuts. Newsome is everything you dream of and more.

If used right at UConn which is always questionable...Newsome will turn into the most exciting running back in the country by his Soph year and a serious Heisman candidate by his Junior year.

The kid is that special and something to look forward to.

He does have a chance to be special. I wouldn't throw Heisman candidate out there just yet. The O-line needs a ton of work. Newsome admittedly still has room to grow as a player. The great news is he has a great work ethic. I can tell you this, he runs much tougher between tackles then McCombs....and he's not going to get stupid personal foul penalties. Let's give the kid and the O-line time to develop. He can be a game-changer.

Kris may have cleaner info but he lists as 5-7/5-8 177/180lb. Rock solid.

5'8, 183 solid. Not an overly muscular build at this point, but very strong. He has plenty of room to develop more muscle mass. I could see him playing at 190-195 at UConn. He is definitely bigger this year. He weighed 173 last season and according to his HC, he's faster and more explosive. This is a kid that weighed 146 as a freshman, so he's spent significant time in the weight room. He'll improve in all facets working with the UConn Strength & Conditioning Staff.

Thanks Kris1...I am very much looming forward to seeing him as a Husky next year. I watched some film of him..I am VERY impressed with how he runs the ball.

Time for the elephant in the room question. Is Arkeel committed to the coaching staff or to UConn?

I'm sure Medic or Kris know better but everything I've read seems to say that his dream was to play for UCONN, never heard that PP was the deciding factor. Or any factor.
