Making the board a little less insufferable

Could be worse, the local high school team on Friday lost the NJ North 1 Group 3 Sectional title on PK's after a 2 to 2 tie. The other school did tie it up with 6 minutes left, which should not have happened. But, before, they tallied a 3rd goal off of a corner kick (service to the near post, a flick off the head to the far post, and then headed in) only to have it taken away when the linesman called them offside. There is no off sides on a corner kick as it is served off of the end line. Apparently, the only folks who did not know that where the referees.

Could be worse. The local high school here lost the NJ North 1 Group 3 Sectional title game on Friday on PK’s after a 2 to 2 draw in regular time and OT. They gave up a late goal with 6 minutes left, which should not have happened. But, 5 minutes before that, they put home a corner kick (service from the left side to the near post with a head flick across to the far post and then headed into the net) only to have it waved-off because the linesman called them offside. As a corner kick is served from the end line, it is not possible to be offside on a corner kick. Apparently, the only ones who did not know that was the referees.
