The only one posting nonsense here is you. CL82's quote was "The ACCs theoretical foot print extends to Boston, it is only in reality that stops at Maryland." He acknowledged the fact that the footprint went as far north as Massachusetts. The point of his thread was that MSG was not a viable option for their conference, even though they would love to. So if you agree with that premise, why do you keep spewing $#it out of your keyboard??

Whaler, the problem I've always had with many of your posts is that you will find 20% of someone else's post that you don't agree with and proceed to hammer the hell out of it, forcing an argument with one or more people. And you often do this even when you agree with the poster's main point! (like in this case, for instance) Why do you do that?? That's all I'm asking...

1138 posts in the thread that will not die, and this is what it is all about? Did I miss the memo on that?

1139 posts, and it's actually about nothing at all. That's the wonder and mystery of this thread. It encompasses everything and nothing all at the same time. Stephen Hawking is working on this paradox as we type...

So ACC fans that live north of Maryland don't count. I'm pretty sure that the television networks don't agree with that sentiment. I don't think the football schools have a geography problem, they have a problem with a basketball focus. If they were adding football programs that were of a quality of Ohio State they wouldn't care if they were on the moon. If they cared about geography they wouldn't be interested in the Big 12.

So only post when in agreement. Got it.

I agree with the conclusion, but disagree with the reasons. The tournament would be a success at MSG, it's just not worth pissing off the basketball fans in the triangle.

By the way, I mis-typed and meant to type "his post" and not "his thread", but I'm sure you picked up on that. This really is the thread that won't die. I wonder if we can change it from "ACC" to "Freddy Kruger"?

No. Only post disagreements when you actually disagree. And if you only disagree with the reasons and not the conclusion, say so. Not that hard, really.

Ok. But you seemed to understand I agreed with the conclusion since you pointed it out.

There's no functional difference between a north-of-the-Mason-Dixon-line geography problem, and a problem with adding football programs below the caliber of Ohio State. There are no Ohio State caliber football programs available for the ACC to add anywhere in an Atlantic coastal footprint. So they either take the northeast geography with middle-tier football, or they don't.

I get what you're thinking, but it all boils down to money. They are interested in the Big 12 because it would bring more money. They are interested in Notre Dame because it would bring more money. They are skeptical of Syracuse and Pitt because they don't obviously bring more money.

Sound strategy. I've done the same thing, putting a plan in place. If Kate Upton calls, Bar Rafaeli has 24 hours to match.

The internet is full of small people who like to show their importance and knowledge. Posting is only serious for folks who don't have something more constructive to do with their time and lives.

There have been a small number of posters who feel the need to come on this board and lord it over a fanbase that is largely unhappy with conference realignment. A good fanbase that is unhappy about something outside of their control.

I get it, we all get it, you're happy that BC is in the ACC and happy that UCONN fans are disappointed they are not. So keep on posting and show us how smart you are.

Navy is going to be joining a conference for the first time in their history in 2015. I think there's something going on.
