I think so. This is an extremely long and athletic squad. Forgot all the talent and offensive potential, our defensive alone should win us games. Could this be our best defensive squad in recent memory? I certainly think so. CAN'T WAIT

Best ever is quite the claim, but the length of this team certainly gives me memories of the early to mid 2000's teams where basically no one would get in the lane and get a lay up. The PG's are short, but everyone else is far above average height for a college player at their position.

6'1 PG - Shabazz Napier
6'6 SG - Jeremy Lamb - 7'4" wingspan.
6'8 SF - Roscoe Smith - 7'2" wingspan.
6'11 PF - Andre Drummond - 7'5" wingspan.
6'9 C - Alex Oriakhi - 7'3" wingspan.
6'8 SF - DeAndre Daniels - 7'2" wingspan.

Most NBA teams don't have this length. How are teams like Marquette who start 6'6 PFs going to get any boards or point in the paint....

Was just gonna say...if you thought last years defense was pretty good, just wait till you see this years! Holy ! How are teams going to score? Roscoe, Deandre, Drummond, and AO protecting the paint with Boat, Bazz, and Lamb playing the passing lanes? Wow, this could be the most talent UConn has ever had.

And we can also put a lot of pressure on the guards with shabazz and boat's quickness wo the fear of them 'attacking the rim'...not quite Thabeet, but AD is gonna give us that shot blocking presence we did not have so much with AO
