Here are some characters and/or props from 25 of the most popular comic strips. Your job is to identify the strips. They are listed in the order in which they occurred to me, not order of popularity or era. Same rules as always; don't copy the quiz and no peeky. Duplicate prizes will be awarded in case of ties.

20) Lucky Eddie

The PinotBear is hot. All right, although you typed 25 when you meant 26 for Calvin.
Ignatz was indeed the rock-throwing bane of Officer Pup in Krazy Kat, but CC got the right artist but the wrong strip!! Remarkable.
Ok, some more clues to loosen things up;
15) Margo had two roomies.
16) Sam became the main character in the strip, although it was not named for him.
18) The clue above should be sufficient.
19) If you get 18 you should also get 19
22) I thought this one would be easy. Rats!
24) Several people listed this strip as their all -time favorite when I posted the original question about favorite strips.
25) This strip went on to become an animated tv cartoon. It was highly controversial for its time.

These hints should make the other id's a piece of cake, for anyone who has ever been into the sunday comix. Now deliver!!

Excellent! Four for four! You are well on the way to winning first prize of 100 trophy points. OK, here is the final set of clues, tomorrow we will wrap it up.

15) Margo had two roomies. 3Girls, get it?
16) Although he never became a Judge, Sam was a crusading lawyer, and became the main character in the strip, although it was not named for him.
19) If you get 18 you should also get 19. Milt changed strips, but couldn't totally abandon the Dragon Lady, whom CC resembles in many ways.
24) Several people listed this strip as their all -time favorite when I posted the original question about favorite strips. Sara was a teeny-bopper.
25) This strip went on to become an animated tv cartoon. It was highly controversial for its time. Jazmine was a teeny-bopper also.

Right on both counts. That leaves 19, 24 and 25. I would expect some old timer to get 19; the Milt should be a dead giveaway. The other two are more recent and both were pretty popular. Would it help at all if I mentioned that Jazmine was of mixed ethnicity?

I get Milt Caniff, but my brain won't produce the strip name(s). I'll take a stab -- Steve Canyon? (Even that sounds wrong)

Actually, it sounds exactly right. Not long after Caniff dropped Terry, (which gave us the immortal meme "Dragpm Lady") he started the new strip Steve Canyon. Apparently he missed the DL, so created Copper Calhoun. Now c'mon, 24 and 25 should have been two of the very easiest, since they are/were both modern era.
