Assists are a key stat that I always look to for in a team, some of the top teams that consistently have low assist numbers I do not consider to be threats in the tournament.

Although that's been true recently in WCBB (mostly because UConn and ND have been very good and both get a lot of assists), it's not a general rule. In 2014, the UConn men's team had 12.2 assists per game.

For some reason a lot of teams do not travel well in conference - the SEC has been notorious for that as has the B12 - a few teams have been able to rise above that TN, SC recently, Baylor - but really good teams in those two leagues generally throw a few serious wobbles into their season against seriously lesser teams. And I am not talking about the Baylor loss type situation where they are missing their starting PG (though that was still a shocking loss) but situations like this KY loss which just shouldn't happen.

It's hard to win on the road for all but the very best teams. I'm surprised Kentucky lost at Auburn, but it's not a shock.
