"The UConn Human Rights Institute at the University of Connecticut is receiving a $4 million financial gift from philanthropist George Soros and a 1966 alumnus of the school.

UConn officials say the donation is the program’s largest.

The gift will require the UConn Foundation to raise an additional $2 million in matching funds. The combined $6 million will help build an endowment that will be used to provide scholarships to undergraduate students majoring in human rights."

Soros is a UConn alum? Why haven't we tapped that well before now?

Uh, I mean, thanks George.

It appears that he is not, but has ties to Connecticut. I tried to see if any of his kids went to UConn, but could not confirm that.

Talk about botching a headline!!! George Soros is famous, Gary Gladstein isn't nationally known but this is something you think someone could have used his name instead of 1966 UCONN alum considering the amount of money here!!

He still put up the money and probably got Soros to kick in too. That deserves your name in the headline.
