I saw the headline that said, “ Michigan TE makes surprise commitment,” I said to myself wouldn’t it be funny if he chose UConn. For some reason I clicked on the headline, and lo and behold.

Joly is listed on the roster as a TE. On the field he has played as a WR rather than a TE. He has lined up outside and in the slot. He has great size for a possession WR. He has also shown a burst that suggests WR is a more natural position for him.

Pair him with Hansen and the QB has a 6-3 WR and a 6-6 TE in the pattern. Nice to have that option.

Uconn needs another big target in the red zone and would be nice to have his size for blocking.

With healthy WR's next year (fingers crossed) we will have plenty of red zone targets. Think Joly, Clercius, (pending situation) Drayton, catch everything Marion, Nigel Fizgerald who looked like he was going to be a major factor... now this big pick up in Hansen...we have PLENTY of red zone targets. Mora needs to find another QB or two .. or three...who can stay healthy and get them the ball.

Turner was hurt by ZT's inability to throw in the middle of the field. The dig route should be one of his best routes.
