    Who coaches our big's?

I will no longer post here. This pace has some nice people, with some nice input, but too many have an agenda of just berating opinions, not my style, I wish all of you well.

Everyone has good points, would love to hear KO weigh in on this, Jacobs you watching?

    Who coaches our big's?

Really, Belichick?....is that how far up you have to go to make a point? Ollie is no Belichick just for starters. Maybe try it this way. I'm a 4* recruit on UCONN's list. I'm a 6'10" kid, post player. I ask who is going to coach me, and what game experience this person has in the paint?/post...

    Who coaches our big's?

Let me clear the air on that, I am one person with one name, and have no others here.

    Who coaches our big's?

I don't totally disagree with that logic, but for one, this isn't high school, it is major college basketball. Secondly, any of the coaches can teach any position. Do you think it would be a fair argument to suggest that someone who played the 4, or 5 position at least at the college level, had...

    Who coaches our big's?

I know UCONN is not the first team in NCAAB that does not have anyone on the coaching staff that was not a guard in his playing days. Looking at the lack of development of our bigs, would it not be a reasonable question to ask, Is it working here? Would it no be a reasonable question to ask KO?

    Ollie v Calhoun

Your right, but read the posts here, many do it, Calhoun this, Ollie that, time to put it to rest, agreed...and was the reason for the post

    Ollie v Calhoun

This a totally unfair comparison. Like him or not, if there is no Calhoun, there is no nothing. Comparing Ollie to a legendary Hall of Fame Coach is going to come up short. no matter how you slice it. Ollie is a rookie basically, he is still growing into the job. he has had proud moment, and...

KO did a great job his first two years as head coach, Ever think he was coaching Calhoun's kids, and since that time,he is coaching his own? Sorry Ollie apologists.

KO's next steps on the recruiting trail

I consider this. Look at any sport, and a team that has had a poor season. Almost always, a coach comes to the point of realization, that you can no longer salvage a bad season. They start to experiment looking ahead to the next year. If you believe that Enoch was going to have the starting C...

KO's next steps on the recruiting trail

This has no real answers yet, he may go to a P-5 conference, and be a total bust, or he may go there, and be a double-double guy, in either case, those slaying him now, or those wondering why?....will have their day.

KO's next steps on the recruiting trail

Brimah gave us a better chance to win, your absolutely correct, but there was a point in the season, that dictated it was time to get the returning kids a bigger role and see what they could do. The numbers were not as far apart as you think. Brimah averaged 7.6ppg and 6.1rpg, if you equate...

KO's next steps on the recruiting trail

I do agree with you in part, but the facts offer some separation. Brimah commited a foul every 7.75 minutes, Enoch every 6.52 minutes. Brimah as a freshman averaged a foul every 5.59 minutes. The point is if the kid is getting more significant minutes, and is treated like a prospect, instead of...

    Juwan Durham news...

Absolutely correct, but he was in a tournament somewhere every year, followed a year not in the NCAA Tournament (5 times from the 1st time he made it), with 5 NCAA appearances, 3 Elite 8's. let's not go 14-17, lose half your team, because they are running from you, and put them in the same...

KO's next steps on the recruiting trail

Personally, I believe Enoch was simply never given a chance. He was rarely on the floor for longer than a 5-6 minute stretch. Ollie saw this season falling apart. he saw Brimah was no better a player than he was last year, and he was constantly in foul trouble. Ollie had a chance to give Enoch...

    Juwan Durham news...

Lubin is similar to the many players under Ollie who were told they were probably better off playing elsewhere. If that is true, then Ollie is the wrong guy. Is that what he tells them when he recruits them? A lot of the stuff I read here is pure speculation. It's ok to share ideas, we all do...

The comparisons to Butler are baffling. Sure there were drug dealing and gun charges with Caron That is the comparison! You decided to add intelligence to the equation, the comparison ends there.

    2017 Recruiting: Kassius Robertson

I do like this kid, can knock down 3's consistently, just hasn't faced much good competition, shot 5-15 vs KY this year, 2-10 from deep, about the only high up game they played this year and last. Could be worth a look.

KO's next steps on the recruiting trail

Cobb had 32 assists in JC. You have to realize this kid did nothing at SC, and watching videos are highlights, your seeing the best of the best, all against JC teams. The fact is, you could be right, and he becomes a great asset, or I could be right, in not expecting much. We are both...

KO's next steps on the recruiting trail

Remember we had Sam Cassell Jr. from the same school as Cobb. Cassell averaged 19.7ppg there. Cobb averaged 10.9ppg, and shot just 52% as a big guy. He also blocked a grand total of 6 shots, and had 72 turnovers. I'm not sure what your expecting, and I do hope he is a big surprise, but I am not...

KO's next steps on the recruiting trail

Couldn't agree more. Sure, let's gut the team of 4* recruits, to make room for JUCO players, grad transfers, and those left that are not even in the top 100. While the players we released, are being targeted by schools like Virginia, and Notre Dame, sure makes a lot of sense to me! (NOT!)

Best I can see, these players at least have a chance to bring their skills to UCONN: Malcolm Nichols 6-5 SG Shakur Juiston 6-7 PF (JUCO) Mamoudou Diarra 6-9 SF (probably are most realistic target) ..ranks #203 Blake Harris 6-3 PG (although lots of Michigan...

KO's next steps on the recruiting trail

Our present "optics" doesn't help the situation, it just became tougher to get players with all the drama. We have to land a quality player, to change the optics, before they all disappear.
