This is one of the more enlightening Hurley interviews you will find. Several gems in here, including a great discussion of how our offensive system was developed.
I walked past the player's bus in the staging area at the capitol before watching the parade procession from the park, and then later listening to the speeches from the outskirts of the rally area. It was cool to be able to be able to see everything, and I had a great time. The players were...
lol I try not to be a ridiculous homer but I actually think this (our starting 5 vs. the rest of the all BE guys) is kind of reasonable! We basically have 4 all-conference level guys plus a unanimous ROTY/lottery pick. Plus our guys fit together like a glove, have great chemistry, and have deep...
If our starting 5 played vs the other 5 best players in the BE on a neutral court (MSG I guess) I think I’d bet on UConn. Kolek, Kadary, Baylor, Carter, Kalkbrenner I guess? Pretty tough game.
On the DII front, SCSU (coached by our own Scott Burrell) plays in the NE-10 Championship game on Saturday in Manchester, NH. Roster features Mamadou and Hassan’s younger brother, Cherif Diarra, as well as a transfer from Shaheen Holloway’s Cinderella St Peter’s team.
Is Timberlake playing for Baylor?? What the hell was he doing at the end of this game. First he made a bad turnover, then he made a horrible decision on D leading to a wide-open 3, and then he missed the front end of a 1 and 1. Dude is unplayable.
Oh gotcha, that makes sense.
I would argue that taking advantage of promotions and bonuses is an essential piece of being an advantage gambler. It’s the low hanging fruit for sure, but it’s a way to make money. I think if you look at how a lot of winning sports bettors operate, it does look a...
EV is short for expected value, which is the amount a gambler can expect to make in the long term over many trials. @Tenspro2002 used the example of a 50% profit boost on a single -110 bet. This bet is going to +EV: it doesn't matter if you happen to lose on 1 specific game, the bet will make...
This is more or less my strategy with regards to sports betting and the online casinos in CT. I'm ahead $6500 on FanDuel (mostly in the last year) solely through hustling promotions and never betting on anything that isn't +EV. It's not glamorous but it works and I have fun doing it.
If you're in CT: Mohegan Sun, Foxwoods, and MGM Springfield all have $1/$2 No Limit Texas Hold 'Em games running at all times basically. Mohegan Sun gets my vote as the best option of the 3. In CT, it is not possible to play online poker for real money legally, but it could conceivably happen in...
I love gambling. I've been taking it pretty seriously for a while. Mostly I play poker (I play at Mohegan Sun regularly) but I do bet and gamble on the legal apps in CT. I only play when I have an advantage, which is often enough given all of the promotions FanDuel and DraftKings do.
Betting on...
I worked at Claire's for a year and a half after graduating college. Claire was super good to me and still greets me very warmly every time I stop by even though it's been almost 10 years since I quit. Many of my co-workers had been working there for a decade plus and still work there to this...
Diarra was awful from 3 last season, but his sophomore year he shot almost 33% on 2.6 attempts per game which is decent volume. So I don't think it's huge aberration that he is shooting well this season, although he has clearly put a lot of work into improving his shot. If anything, it was last...
He was awesome last night. I'm a big Diarra fan, but last year the team got worse when he came in. This year, that's not the case.
The 3rd Diarra brother is the starting PF for the SCSU Owls and Scott Burrell. 6'6" and a great defender, but not much of an offensive player. Next year we should...
Went to Yale @ QU tonight. I've been to several of each team's games over the past few years but had never seen them play each other.
Interesting match up. Richie Springs played pretty well for QU (5p 5r 1a in 19 minutes off the bench) except for the fact that he travelled 3 times on post-ups...
Important game for sure, but fortunately for our next game we are at home against Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Saturday. After that, there is almost a full week off, so there is a nice break before Gonzaga.
Watching Andre play in the 3rd quarter was so fun. Looked like he was at UConn. Commentators raving about him the whole time while the Bucks went on a huge run.
OMG Georgetown in big trouble. Holy Cross with the lead and the ball, 40 seconds left. Cooley didn't call a timeout down 1 with a minute left and Jayden Epps took a horrible shot. Joe Octave from HC looks great.
Woj just mentioned that Andre was red-flagged medically for past injuries, including meniscus injuries. Hadn't heard that previously.
Regardless, so happy for Andre! Will be fun to root for him with Giannis & co on a really good team.
Saw some big games from this kid while he was playing at Quinnipiac. When he transferred to BC, I kind of hoped we would look at him for a bench role. Happy to have him on staff!
I enjoyed watching him every time he made it on the court. Gave us good minutes this year with the injury trouble at the start of the season. Hopefully he kills it wherever he ends up, will definitely be tuning into his games.
