    Roster: 2023-2024

As you have posted above the only official answer to each player's classification is the UCONN Official Athletics Site: Uconnhuskies.com. It makes no difference what some newspaper writer or Website poster write. You've got to go by what UCONN says is official. Paige is a R-Jr with 3 years of...

First Team Workout in the Books

Look at the picture more closely. Ines is too small of build to have such a broad back, I don't care how much she's ben lifting. Furthermore, the woman in question is not Caucasian. The only Caucasians on the team with dark hair are Nika, Caroline, and Ines. The person pictured is too tall to...

NCAA approves flopping rule (among others)

How do they do it in the NBA? Players wear a 6 on the front of their jerseys in honor of Bill Russell. Kobe wore 8, LeBron wore 6 in Miami for example.

First Team Workout in the Books

I think the woman in question is Jana El Alfy.

OT jus to know uou, what are you favorite french songs ?

On youtube there are a number of versions en francaise of The Windmills of Your Mind, the theme from The Thomas Crown Affair from 1968. Here's one:

UConn Women basketball Early 2023-2024 Starting Five Prediction

Whose minutes would you reduce so Ines can play more? Paige? Certainly not. Azzi? No. Nika? I don't care how much Ines may improve, she's not going to surpass those 3.

Will Amari Be A Factor This Season?

Furthermore, I would add that other than a few occasional productive minutes nothing in her first 2 years suggests that we should expect to see more consistent play during and from game-to-game. If wishes were horses...

    Lauren Betts in the Portal

WRONG! Betts would come in and start in Dorkas' place.

    Lauren Betts in the Portal

Do you really believe Geno would make such a stipulation? I don't. I believe he would say something like, "We'd love to have you, you can come here and compete for minutes along with everyone else.". If Betts were to transfer to UCONN, I think DeBerry would be the one whose minutes were...

    Lauren Betts in the Portal

Know? No. But Brink is their best player. How many minutes should a team sit their best player in favor of a freshman?

    Aneesah Morrow

I never said that I thought she would go there or would even consider it. I was just identify places I don't want to see her go. I think you leapt to an indirect conclusion. I don't like the coaches at those schools and I don't want to see them get players that would make them better.
  12. T

    Aneesah Morrow

All other questions aside, would Morrow conform to the CD rules? I don't care where she goes as long as it's not Columbia, Baton Rouge, or College Park.
  13. T

    Kim Mulkey

I for one will never admit any such thing. All evidence suggest she a good recruiter. I've seen too many examples of in-game coaching blunders to agree the former.
  14. T

OT: Jordan Hawkins and Angel Reese are cousins

    virtually no significance.

    Aliyah Goes Out With Class

I'd ask you to watch it again in slo-mo if you can. If Boston were playing DL for the SC football time she couldn't have sacked the opposing QB like that without garnering a roughing the passer penalty.
  16. T

    Aliyah Goes Out With Class

Classy? Seriously? You mean like that mugging of Warnock I believe in the end game that was unbelievably called a jump ball. Boston grabbed her from behind and held her before she ever got a hand on the ball, Then she wrestled and threw Warnock to the floor where she hit the back of her...

    Geno on each 2023 recruit

SMH. Paige can play several positions, but to sy she is not a true PG boggles my mind. To say she can't push the ball up the court boggles my mind even more. Did you see her play at all her freshman year?

    In defense of Nika

UCONN's failure to break the press does not fall on Nika's shoulders alone. It was a collective uncharacteristic failure. Players failed to move to space to make themselves available for a pass and dribblers committed the cardinal error of picking up their dribble to soon. Not just Nika, but...

    In defense of Nika

Nika and Paige are from the same recruiting class. If Paige is eligible for a Covid year, and she is, why wouldn't Nika?

    One more thought about Lou.

Without Lou, UCONN this year would never have made it to the Sweet 16. Without this year at UCONN, Lou probably would not be on the verge of being an WNBA draft pick regardless of her play at mid-major Fairfield.
  21. T

    In Geno's Defense

Hmm. I think there's a PG coming off injury next season that is a pretty significant upgrade.

Should UCONN use a Kim schedule?

Let's see what Ice and Jana do before assuming that hasn't been done. Although only 6'-3", Aaliyah is a pretty strong rebounder.
  23. T

Should UCONN use a Kim schedule?

I think you assume that all players can be developed. Some players reach their peak in HS or shortly thereafter. Some players don't reach their full capabilities until their 3rd or 4th year in college. Some sadly just never do. UCONN and all schools have had examples of all over the years...

Worst officiated game I've seen in a long, long time

Look at the disparity in fouls called. Ridiculous! That being said great coaching job by tOSU. Great press but I'm amazed that UCONN couldn't break it. They usually do a much better job of doing so. The four fouls on Edwards early surely hurt.

Will it be about Azzi, or scoring balance for the Huskies?

The presence of Azzi opens up the floor creating space for inside and outside shooting from the rest. Azzi will get her points but I would bet that there will be once again 4 players in double figures.

    Share a Little Love

I've posted this before and was vilified, but Villanova is Maddy and a bunch of others. In spite of all the points she scored, the rest of the team is not enough to even beat a 9 seed who was a middle of the pack ACC team. Props to her for getting them almost single-handily when they were down...

    Share a Little Love

Hmm, but I'm pretty sure I heard the Miami "Band of the Hour" playing after the final buzzer.
  28. T

    Today’s practice

In a proverbial NY minute. It is only speculation that she will use the last of her remaining 3 years of eligibility anyway. Bird in the hand.

    A message from Lou

"Y'all"? I guess Lou is from Southern France. ;)

Give credit to Geno and the Coaches

Furthermore, look at it from the opposite perspective. UCONN played without its best player and one of the best in the country all season. Where would Iowa be without Clark, SC without Boston, Nova without Siegrist, VT without Kitley, Stanford without Brink, etc., etc. From where I sit the...

    Princeton ,Utah

You don't think "her game" has its roots in Geno's way? SMH
  32. T

    Princeton ,Utah

Totally disagree. Whoever is the next coach in Storrs will have the benefit in recruiting that Geno has long established for the first several years. Thereafter the organization overall including practice, planning, and game time et al will determine the ongoing high standard of success. I...

    UConn is scary Good

I suspect this post will get a few <wow> smilies. A couple of weeks ago I received some <wow> and <dislike> icons from a few on this board who dislike anything negative or controversial, when I posted that Villanova is Maddy and 4 others.. Olson is a good player but she couldn't carry that...
