UConn Football 2024 Spring FanFest (April 21st @ Morrone Stadium)

A very underrated component of communication.

I would suggest retaking Logic 101 which should also give you a better grounding in discerning between cause and effect.

And dropping into the zone doesn't help the run? I think you just answered the question.

    Gordon Sammis Named OC

Every coach that has come to UConn has said this. What they are implying is the run game will empower the passing game. I wonder why it never occurs to them that the opposite is true? Regarding taking what the defense will give them, we all know what that is right now. Expect a continued...

Maybe when HCJM wins a couple back to backs he will feel differently.

Matt Brock - New Defensive Coordinator

Hmmm ... "open to giving me the freedom to do things that they have never done here." This should be interesting. I wonder how many opponent possessions it will take for the BY to fall off the wagon?

I would guess that next week will be different. Give the BB team their kudos and parade.

UConn Spring Football Updates (1st Practice 3/19/24)

So have we seen any full contact tackling drills yet? Tackling is a physics problem not too dissimilar to military air defense. Interception in an evasive action environment in a manner which allows the target to be wrapped up with force and brought down. I am dubious of arguments that it can...

    Jim Mora: Something feels different

I think he is just happy to have both BB teams getting all the attention so FB can just put their heads down and grind away. If the men win there will be more talk of a realignment offer. He will want to keep the players focused. Just win, baby. The other stuff will take care of itself.

I think you meant to say man, right?

UConn Spring Football Updates (1st Practice 3/19/24)

WR's and CB's are the fastest guys on the field. Kinda tough for a big body to outrun a CB -- if that's what you meant.

UConn Women's Hockey Michigan adding women's hockey?

With Michigan they would need only one more. Unfortunately the quickest way is governed by FB.

    UConn WHOC 23-24 Season

Apologies if this has been discussed before, but is Tia expected to play for China in the Worlds in Utica this year? Has anyone heard?

UConn Women's Hockey Michigan adding women's hockey?

All four of the B1G schools that play women's hockey were in the NCAA's, and two in the Frozen Four making it to the championship game with Ohio State winning it. Does access to the biggest piles of NIL cash in the country help? I would think so. And UConn would have to pony up a lot of cash to...

    Non-Key Tweets

So that is good to know. If UConn goes to a bowl and wins it this year they will make a jump in that particular ranking even though it would likely require several years to make a lot of improvement.

Well, if is ONLY based on FB, UConn would be a lot lower, don't you think?

Accretive is the governing word. Both for the conference and for the institution. If a move is not accretive for both, it won't happen.

Give it up for Chris MacKenzie, Dad-joking mastermind behind UConn’s rise in women’s hockey (Dom Amore-Courant)

Gonna wear my UConn men's away sweater from back in the day (under my green and gold Alpine Ski jacket) in honor of Coach MacKenzie's accomplishment winning the Coach of the Year Award. If you see a guy dressed like that in Durham today, please say hello.

Awesome!!!! Tremendous season Huskies.Tomortow I head to Durham to watch my other team, my undergrad alma mater play Ohio State. Managing my expectations. But I will be thinking about UConn getting to the Frozen Four soon.

Well, good points. But I subscribe to the school of thought that the fans have no intrinsic right to knowledge of HR matters unless the circumstances are highly unusual. Salaries of course are a matter of public record.

Well, that part we really don't know. They made it sound like he left voluntarily; but, he was most likely pushed, in which case UConn is on the hook only for the difference in salaries assuming he took a cut.

ACC replacement list: UConn, USF, Memphis, Tulane, Washington State, Oregon State

I just love everyone talking about their love for the BE hoping UConn can go someplace and take the BE with them. Ain't happening. No one is taking schools that don't play FBS FB. This FB centric influence has already been felt in the BB tournament. If Purdue had not lost in their tournament...

    UConn MHOC 23-24

I finally got to the TFIF for the first time for a women's tournament game. Much nicer than Frietas or the Saarinen Roof (although I was a roof fan). But I talked to several people about the atmosphere at men's games. In short it was unanimous that the atmosphere sucks at men's games. And...

What is the end game in a P2 world?

Well, we are being force fed those 18 teams. We view them out of curiosity and to keep up with the game. We channel surf and finally end up on the most interesting game from the standpoint of the sport itself. But no rooting interest. It is a sterile experience.

    Gordon Sammis Named OC

Just guessing here, but I suspect that HCJM wants to stay with the current playbook. The players all know it. The coaches all know it. He most probably wants to keep any changes to an evolutionary variety, perhaps a different emphasis in certain situations. Variations on a theme, not major...

UConn 2023-2024 Women’s Hockey East Championship>NCAA Frozen Four (Thursday 3/14/24 vs. Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs @7pm ET in Columbus, OH on BIG10+)

UConn 2023-2024 Women’s Hockey East Championship>NCAA Frozen Four (Thursday 3/14/24 vs. Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs @7pm ET in Columbus, OH on BIG10+)

The NCAA did not chose the site. Ohio State claimed the regional site by virtue of its Pairwise ranking. Perhaps the men are playing in their regular venue.

Nick Charlton headed to Cleveland Browns > Offensive Assistant/Run-Game Specialist

Thing is, the public criticism that HCJM made of the offense at the end of the year pretty much was a signal to Charlton to start looking with some urgency.
