If UCONN shoots threes like they did in the first half against the Hoyas then Rebecca Lobo may be onto to something—watch out for Huskies in the big dance.
Over 18 minutes over a period of two games without giving up a point? Do they keep track of such things because that has to be some kind...
I have no solution but cheap shots like Aaliyah took has to stop. Two shots and the ball doesn’t seem to be enough.
The Huskies did seem to get a lot more calls after Edwards went down.
Paige’s OMG moment came near the end of the first quarter when she somehow made the driving crossover...
Even more disappointing was that I don't think it was the best game Shea ever coached. They looked disorganized on offense. A lot of standing around, missed layups and one on one play. They fought until the end though.
It probably won’t happen but UCONN has two players deserving of first team All American honors. Edwards gets beat up every game, is a major concern for opponents and still posts solid numbers.
Q must have had a good couple of days of practice because the early run was unusual. Plus the up and...
I think the Huskies suffered from a little ND hangover for about two and half quarters They didn’t play with near the energy they showed in previous Big East games.
3 point shooting is not a strength at this point. Teams are making Shade dribble and she isn’t getting as free from distance...
Tip your hat to ND. They were well prepared and played great.
Citron caused Paige to have one of her worst shooting nights probably ever.
First time I have felt the team really missed Aubrey.
I wish Geno would use those Big East scrimmages to let Q and Ines to log some serious minutes. The...
I was surprised that Geno didn’t give Ice some help with Karlen in the first half. Ice had no chance against her. Of course, Karlen couldn’t handle Edwards either.
I suppose Paige was due for a logo 3. She has done everything else.
Until Marquette’s last two first half possessions, UCONN...
Muhl on Peoples? Sorry about your luck Anaya. Zero points when guarded by Nika.
DePaul is a perfect example of a school that can’t compete with the transfer portal and NIL They just don’t have the talent to match up with UCONN.
I know Caitlin Clark is getting the national commercials and a...
Seton Hall’s post players were so unathletic that their only alternative when guarding Aaliyah was to beat her up. It happens every game. Tonight seemed a little too obvious.
UCONN always gets the opponent’s best shot. Other than a lousy second quarter, Seton Hall put up a fight.
One of the...
With Ines, we are seeing fewer forced passes and a continued increase in hustle and unselfish play. I now hope that her recent play earns her some first half minutes.
Nika shutting down Drake has been a part of UCONN's defensive template for as long as i can remember: Take away the other...
Maybe it is NIL money, friendships, culture and the chance at a national championship. But as far as her game? There is nothing in her game that needs to improve to be effective in the WNBA. Paige is that rare player who misses a year due to injury and comes back a better player. She is...
I think Ines could get some run if she didn't have to play the point. She often forces passes or penetrates into the lane and can't make the pass out. I think she is significantly stronger and showed some scoring prowess when she played for Portugal this summer. She was buried behind some...
—it looked like Aubrey planted hard with her left leg when changing direction. The slo mo did not look good. I hope I am wrong. It ruined a fabulous night otherwise
—Aaliiyah like so many other UCONN greats keeps expanding her game. Watching her guard the perimeter and disrupt passing lanes...
I always thought Ines had Division I skills with athleticism to match. However, with the limited time she normally gets, she forces everything in an effort to make a play.
I am not sure her play last night will influence future playing time this season but it was fun watching her play like a...
Her 37 minutes without rest until the end tells you what Geno thought of her performance. She has earned his trust. There is being well conditioned and there is Ashlyn’s level.
-Austin Parkinson will eventually get a major college job. His transformation of this program in a short time is obvious. UCONN was just awesome for the last three quarters.
-I think the way Shade played tonight will quickly become the norm for her over the next four years.
-Geno commented at...
-You can tell UConn was rested. 66% shooting in the first half and a solid defensive effort after a shaky first quarter indicated they were ready.
-UConn took advantage of Louisville’s struggles guarding the dribble. Aubrey and Ailiyah were having no problem getting to the rim.
-The assist...
Paige was brilliant. 4 blocks? Who’d a thunk it?
On the negative side, Nika made 4 threes but had 6 turnovers and was beaten on numerous occasions off the dribble defensively.
Great win against a well coached, somewhat depleted NC team.
I am late to the party and missed most of the thread. But...
-the 37 point first was vintage UConn of old.
-Ball State is well coached and will win a lot of MAC games. Losing their top scorer early was killer.
-Great night for the Muhls. Hana played well and gets the title as the youngest...
Texas was more talented, aggressive and deeper than UConn but UConn’s relentless fight made it a game. The fourth quarter no call when Aaliyah was mugged probably prevented a fabulous comeback.
-Nika could not handle Rori Harmon but I am not sure there are many guards who can.
-Still waiting...
I watched some of the game. Plays with non stop energy. It doesn't happen often but this is one I wish was still at UCONN. Talk about a perfect fit for this year's team. Great to see that she is finally healthy.
—UCLA has championship talent. I don’t know if Corey can get them across the line.
—Terrible shooting at the start of both halves led to the Husky demise but there is no quit in this team. Man, they play hard until the end.
—I am not sure Liyah can consistently hit that 15 footer. It may have...
