If I had to guess, the time change is geared towards getting the students interested in going. Friday night drinking at the Rent followed by more drinking is much more appealing than waking up early on a Saturday morning for a scrimmage.

So far we have hired 4/10 assistants and have $845K committed. We still need DC, ST, WR, OL, DL/DB (assuming DC is in charge of one or the other), and Strength. Using last year as a comp, those 6 positions took up roughly $1.4 of salary. That would put us about $200K over the pool. Now...

Taking into consideration our current financial situation (read: Diaco buyout), paying our OC $350K, and HCRE being a defensive guy, I think the DC will be less of a big splash and more of a bargain buy to fit the coaches' salary pool.

Look at it this way: We needed to fund the Diaco buyout somehow, and this is a perfect way to 1) add instant revenue via the guaranteed revenue and 2) cut operating costs from having the game day at the Rent. Most years I would be pissed. But if we're able to beat BC, why not do it right in Boston?
