A small hijack, but in light of the drift to a discussion on language, look up the song "Elderly Man River" by Stan Freberg on youtube. It's good for a chuckle.
A win is a win. Yes, it got a bit nerve wracking at the end, but they didn't fold and they hit the shots they needed to and held on for the win. I think this will be a confidence boost as it showed that they could face adversity and come out on top.
While it is true that Syracuse beat ND twice, you need to remember that ND had some missing pieces or damaged pieces (Citron and Westbeld if I remember correctly) when they played. I'm hoping for:
Defensive intensity with good help

Football drives TV contracts which in turn drives athletic department revenue. Until NCAA basketball can generate the TV packages that football does, football will remain king and basketball only schools will be left to fight over the scraps. Beyond the national "power" leagues (I agree they...
It will all come down to matchups in the NCAA tournament. Playing tough defense always provides a chance. This team has some definite weaknesses that can be exploited by teams with quickness and size for sure, but other teams can have a bad day too. Have to avoid letting a game get away from...
