New school commitments by Transfers - March 2024

Yup. She'll also bridge the gap at guard until Addy Deal arrives in 2025. I have no idea if Iowa has any PG's coming ....

Wow for Cincy and Katrina Merriweather. After finding good players and diamonds in the rough at Wright State and Memphis, she's hit pay dirt here in Cincy by landing a 5-star recruit. (per Raoul)

Players Entering Transfer Portal, As of March 2024

Makes me wonder/scratch my head, as well. Big opportunity there to build on some excellent late-season performances, let by UVA's young guards.

Ms. Miller might have company from someone that played for her new coach at Chattanooga.

As discussed, Belmont transfer decides to go to a school and opporutunity, afforded by a new coach.

New school commitments by Transfers - March 2024

Holy crow! A five-spot? Outside of a medical redshirt, that could only be done with a Covid year, right? (per Raoul)

New school commitments by Transfers - March 2024

As a few journalist and posters predicted, she was going to look at Texas schools. Bingo. (per Raoul)

Team USA 3x3 Women's National Team Training Camp Coming Up in Springfield, Mass.

Not to the best of my knowledge. Agree that it's very helpful to have that experience -- 3x3 is a different game -- but it seems like the U.S.A. has a core group of guards that they want to get on these teams and are doubled up (Plum, Howard, Gray, etc.). While I think Clark can learn anything...

Team USA 3x3 Women's National Team Training Camp Coming Up in Springfield, Mass.

She was invited to the 5x5 training camp but it -- alas -- was scheduled at the same time as the Final Four (which, of course, Iowa was in), so she hasn't made a senior training camp, to the best of my knowledge.

    WNBA Draft (merged)

Ok, my interest is officially scratched. Could @boontonbomber be referring to the 1956 Montclair High School football team, which was led by the “Twin Comets” Richie and Robert Haines? (see link and picture below)...

Connecting the possible dots on a Tuesday evening? That said, would Geno have to keep space open for a portal passenger to disembark in Storrs?

Yes. I woke this morning and couldn't remember who selected her in the 2nd or 3rd round and found out, well, no one. I've got the B1G Network and watched more than a few IU games. I thought she and Chloe Moore-McNeil did a great job keeping the team in sync when Syd Parish was out. Yes, she...

@and one My wife was raised in Basking Ridge (Old Farm Road) and went to Ridge High School. To attempt to tie this into the topic, I did follow Hines-Allen out to Morristown a few times when they took on teams in various playoffs.

Mountainside? It borders two towns, so the adage is 'your're born in Glen Ridge (maternity), but could die (emergency room) in Montclair." Three of my kids were born there and I -- knock on wood -- have avoided the emergency room. ;)

Should Clark be on the Olympic team?

No worries. I'll continue conversations if the give and take is interesting, civil and one/both of us can learn something/get a chuckle. Will firmly admit that she's not solidly built such as two ND guards who have done well on international circuits, like Marina Mabrey or Jackie Young. CC...

Should Clark be on the Olympic team?

One box out by Cotie McMahon is, well, one box out. Plus, Cotie McMahon is one of the most solidly built forwards in the game right now and could take out many of the guards listed in these conversations. As for "routine," I still play hoops every Sunday morning and some of my most "whoa, that...

Should Clark be on the Olympic team?

@GCKSFN4L If memory serves, the last time Caitlin Clark represented the U.S.A. was at the U-19 World Cup in Europe, in which she led a team of college underclassmen and high schoolers to the Gold Medal. Other teams knew who she was and it didn't really matter: CC directed the flow of traffic...

Morning-after thoughts: Kudos to Nika and her impending move to the Left Coast. One other person who is known as being a mentor -- well, mother hen -- is Sami Whitcomb, who is a mainstay at Seattle at this point. BTW, I've always been a fan of Nika, but Seattle isn't totally devoid of young...

Comment on the 2nd part first: Greg Bibb overstocks at the same position all the dang time. He claimed in a recent interview that he is after need now. So, if he's stickin' to his new religion, Sheldon is needed. As such, I think he's looking at her as a ball handler, as opposed to a back-up...

Certainly a stable organization, without question. I watched Myisha Hines-Allen grow up in my hometown of Montclair and not only is she one tough cookie, she's a friendly, enthusiastic young woman who -- I'm sure -- will reach out to Aaliyah.

Given how tough a league this is to gain an entry - let alone a foothold -- so much of this depends on who drafts you. Perhaps the only league where "team needs" often are paramount, even in the first round. As noted, the Liberty need some defending to help the backcourt ('Sloot). Will see what...

Team USA 3x3 Women's National Team Training Camp Coming Up in Springfield, Mass.

Seventeen players were invited to the Camp, from Gold-Medal Winner Allisha Gray and Cameron Brink to Katie Lou Samuelson and Rhyne Howard. Looks like some of these folks (Howard, Gray) have been double-booked for both the 5x5 and 3x3 teams, so the U.S.A. administrators are hedging their bets...

Should Clark be on the Olympic team?

"Beat out" for a spot is an interesting phrase. In the case of younger players, it generally means show more than experienced players who have been on the team before. In a perfect world, every player named to the 12-pereson squad by the Nominating Committee should've beaten out a lot of other...

Just thinking out loud about the 7th pick, now belonging to the Chicago Sky. - When that trade, many journalists and posters (including me) thought it was a sign that Chicago knew exactly who they wanted to draft and that's why they dealt resources to move up all of one slot. Could that be...
