it has already been partially forgotten by the fanbase because it came in an excruciating loss (in a season with very little excruciation) but this game has to be up there:
i actually prefer seeing a mix of makes and misses -- the important thing is that a play generates an open shot. even the best players in the world are not going to make every single look in a given game and you have a larger, more representative look at our playbook this way.
i haven't seen this one posted yet. it's similar to the phenomenal hoopvision video from before the tournament, but focuses exclusively on our tournament games:
i also feel like this guy does a slightly better job illustrating the basic concepts of the offense (which are plays that many teams...
would be interesting to rank every single team from the era! like, what's the worst uconn team of the last 35 years?
2017-18 has the worst computer rankings, but that team arguably had more talent on paper than hurley's first year, when we replaced terry larrier, a healthy mamadou diarra, and...
my dad went there. i was born in 1991 so have some memories of dad going crazy during the 1999 championship run.
i followed along when i was younger, but to be honest, i fell out of love with sports for a long time when i got into skateboarding and playing music in middle school and high...
i believe that hurley started it at last year's parade. he said "we want to be in the mix for six" or something to that effect.
i agree that "stairway to seven" is the best possible seven rhyme/pun. i also think we could potentially do something with "three" though...
congrats to him. great player. he was terrifying in the first 10 minutes of this game.
that being said, it really felt like they were unprepared for a team to single-cover edey in the post all game long. how did they only attempt 7 threes???
early in the season, hurley said hassan might be our most important player. it shocked me at the time -- i was actually a pretty big hass skeptic last year -- but he has been incredible all year. basically able to sub in for our 1 - 4 without any fall-off.
the shot never stopped falling, either.
if karaban comes back, i will believe we have the possibility to threepeat.
feels like there is a world where the offense flows through him as a #1 or #2 option (more inverted pick-and-rolls and mismatch hunting, etc.) and he becomes an all-american.
first time on the boneyard since i got back from boston (played some $1/$3 hold 'em at encore afterwards and spent the night) and still buzzing.
easily my favorite, in-person uconn fan experience since the rj cole villanova game (although the sheer relief of albany was also great). the crowd...
ah, interesting! never been.
and i absolutely agree! afternoons have just been the only times i have been available to play lately. those nittier games can be easier to navigate sometimes, too, because i can play a bit wider and basically snap fold at any sign of aggression. it helps that i...
where do you play out of? wish we had a casino that offered 1/3 nearby, although i guess i heard that foxwoods might start?
i definitely don't pretend to be a wizard, but i have been crushing the early afternoon retiree-heavy 1/2 games lately, haha.
i have been to the first round games each of the last three years (buffalo, albany, and brooklyn - although i only went to the friday game this year) and i have always been surprised by how few uconn fans turn out. i agree that it is largely a factor of the big east tournament, but it is still...
apparently they flew from spokane to san diego late last night, then obviously have to fly from san diego to boston in the next day or two.
i know that people overblow the travel angle of postseason sports all the time, especially now that everyone charters flights, but that is quite a bit of...
the only thing i know about stetson is that jacob degrom played for them. if he still has a place in the new york area, i wonder if he makes it to the game.
others answered already, but yes! this article mentions hassan and samson as players that were fasting along with adama last year.
https://www.ctinsider.com/sports/uconn-mens-basketball/article/adama-sanogo-fasting-ramadan-final-four-17873142.php
not sure about singare's background, but i...
with castle removed (he would be number one otherwise) here is a list of the players with the most weekly honors.
karaban is BY FAR the player with the most honors to NOT make an all-league team. according to this (admittedly lacking) metric, he had a top-10 season in the big east. kind of a...
