The funny thing is that no matter how bad this hit piece is, Kim isn’t going to care… LSU admins aren’t going to care.. and LSU fans dang sure aren’t going to care. So who is the target audience here?
All of this. Not sure where that narrative is coming from, but it's not us.
This wasn't even supposed to be "our season".. but here we are. Showing up when our number is called.
Fulwiley and Dawn have one of those relationships… similar to the relationship she had with past players like Sessions, Mitchell, Wilson, Harris, Boston and now Feagin. Never say never, but she’s locked in on Dawn. And she’s for sure the starter in another year anyway. Playing behind Pao and...
I’m not surprised she’s staying. I thought it was about 50-50 the entire time.
Dawn doesn’t sway her players. That’s a family decision. She obviously has a lot of WNBA connections, so she reaches out to her connections, gets the intel on players and relays that info to her players. The players...
I feel pretty confident Kamilla is leaving. I mean I would if I were her, she's projected top 5. PaoPao was kinda all over the place in the projections, so leaving would've been a gamble but so is staying. The safe decision in that situation is to stay in college, so I can't fault her.. plus I'm...
Exactly this. Their style plays into exactly what we’re good at. Launching from three (and missing) every trip down the court leads to a lot of long rebounds and transition points, our strength.
Yeah that was her primary reason for enrolling early. Her injury sustained was a nagging one, made more sense to get access to USC sports physicians and rehab.
Yeah, not bragging but that game had 30 point win written all over it. We were up by 27 at one point. Either way, good win. Love our team. Paige and Edwards are beast. I like Shade too. On to the next.
I think the play for Dawn here is that they all bring something different… and they do. Watkins likely moves to the 5 next year… but between Feagin, Kitts, Edwards, and hypothetically Strong, they all bring something very different to the position. They are all completely different types of...
Did not know Ralph and Dawn were as close as they are. Learned a lot from her post game presser. Pretty cool how much camaraderie there is in the sport these days, yet the coaches still want to beat each others heads in on the court. Love the sportsmanship.
I’m not the biggest Mulkey fan but...
The best teams playing one another multiple times would definitely be more interesting. Never said it wouldn’t. I even said something similar when I mentioned my “perfect world” scenario.
But in our imperfect world, the reason it's fair is because outside of your permanent rival, your schedule...
Great game. Great environment. Great outcome (if you're a Gamecock fan).
LSU played probably their best game so far this year. SC did not play a great game and still came away with a 6 point win somehow. I was very impressed to see Dawn's young team grind out a gritty win in what had to be a...
Lol there's always somebody on tBY that asks this every time SC has a rising challenger in the league. Back then the ask was about MSU. The SEC only plays a 16 game conference schedule, most other P5 conferences play more (around 18) games. The Pac 12 plays a 18 game schedule but their league...
With Saniya on the roster, we probably don't get a Tehina Pao Pao out of the portal.. or even Fulwiley. I think Pao is more of what this particular team needed this season, a guard that can take over a game with their shooting. I loved Saniya, but I think it worked out for all parties. She has a...
Yep. A natural transition to Watkins potentially getting that starting spot at the 5 next year. She's not super tall (about 6'4 in sneakers) like we've had at that spot the last 5+ years.. but her defense and athleticism adds about an inch or two IMO.
Land Strong and all is well in LSU-land. She’s good enough for a 1-person class. Would add instant depth to LSU at the 4 too.
I’m hearing she’s more interested in playing the 3 at the next level though? Not sure how true that is.
I'm speaking specifically on when LSU acquired Hailey Van Lith and Morrow. Sure, they had a favorable path to the title. But when they got Hailey Van Lith and Morrow they went from a team that caught lightening in a bottle to a team that was expected to go back-to-back. They had hype. We knew they would have growing...
I agree with this. On paper and via eye test, I like SC to beat LSU.. but that’s easier said than done when the game will be in Baton Rouge in front of a ginned up fanbase, with College Gameday on hand, Kim Mulkey revving her team up with underdog talk, and the national spotlight on one game. To...
You’re literally the only person in this forum that thinks SC already has the SEC locked up.
Nice try. Nobody here is underestimating LSU or Kim. They’re the defending national champions, the same team that everybody was hailing as world beaters 5 months ago.
That UConn game is never an easy win for SC. I can only remember one game out of the dozen or so times we’ve played where SC had a relatively easy win.. and that was when we beat UConn by 25.
A team with Bueckers is capable of anything. I expect this year to be no different.
Need Raven to get going again (she just hasn't been taking a lot of threes, but they go in when she takes a few), but yes, Pao Pao and Hall have been shooting the ball very very well. Others have been opportunistic with their shots as well.
