247 Sports - From Darlings to Joke: What Happened to UConn Football?

Well, the football program is a media darling now. People even coming here for material to publish is nuts.

Ten Things I Know About UConn Football

Awwwww. Looks like a block letter is here to stay. Let us all rant on about block letters. The white husky logo is antiquated from a sociological point of view. UConn and Nike were ahead of trends.

Ten Things I Know About UConn Football

Basic marketing to make the football program look classic big time. I didn't think there's a need to keep tooting "Block C" by Edsall or whomever. Just have it there and leave it alone. Create a culture around winning, not a block letter. Maybe we should use a pull sled logo to appease those...

Ten Things I Know About UConn Football

Because they have one without saying. Like other Big Ten or other land grant flagship schools? We fight over our own programs and logos.

The Existential Question to be Answered First

They've tried, but sadly, many coaches are con artists. All of the coaches we've had so far during the FBS era have egos that outsize the state. They know their pay rate defies logic.

The Existential Question to be Answered First

Tens of millions have been spent on UConn football. Stop being freaking emo. Or find a new hobby.

The Existential Question to be Answered First

Sounds like a post game presser by Randy Edsall after a loss.

The Existential Question to be Answered First

Just pretend we are pre Big 12 BYU. With a bad run in football at the moment.

The Existential Question to be Answered First

Have you ever looked into who UConn considers peer institutions? It's not difficult to deduce reality.

The Existential Question to be Answered First

It's people being emotionally weak. Can't handle pain; over a stupid game, of all things. These people should clamor for a quidditch or bowling program. Or a fully "inclusive" women's track and field program.

The Existential Question to be Answered First

The funny thing about how some dimwitted UConn fans react to adversity in football alone proves the stereotypes about some modern Connecticut residents. Softer than a feather.

UConn Football adding Noel Mazzone as an offensive analyst

    A 21st century offense. Finally.

UConn Football adding Noel Mazzone as an offensive analyst

Giving up only would set anyone back further. Even if the staff is on the way out, have to salvage or redevelop everything possible.

    Holy Cross loses to Merrimack

Everything that's happened that went wrong has to do with coaching and administration. Temple and Navy are proof. Edsall became WAY too self absorbed. "I don't give a crap what anyone says!"

    Do you believe?

Edsall's incompetence on full display. Should have been playing Steven Krajewski long ago.

Should a UConn/Big 12 marriage be considered if they expand to 14

Well, look at where Oklahoma State is at right now. Going to be a tough battle for those Pac-12 expansion slots and they've been refused as of recently. Had their shot back when the 4 Big 12 teams were talking to the Pac-12.

Should a UConn/Big 12 marriage be considered if they expand to 14

https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/big-12-expansion-byu-cincinnati-houston-and-ucf-wont-solve-every-problem-but-they-will-bring-stability/amp/ The Big 12 is an end goal conference. Just about every school in the conference has already been informed other conferences are not...

Let UConn football be bad (Hearst Editorial)

The Big Ten is still intent on expanding east. They'd probably have to go for UNC and UVA to get to 16, to offset the SEC's additions of Texas and Oklahoma. As of now, there's no other schools the Big Ten could add that would help it hold ground against the SEC. If the Big Ten goes to 18...

The Big 12 will not remain a power conference post-2025

The Big 12 is essentially a "flyover" version of the ACC that expands 2000 miles. And has Mormons and Protestants as opposed to Catholics. They'd be stupid to not add Memphis and Boise State right now.

The Big 12 will not remain a power conference post-2025

Why are we discussing D1 football? Let's talk about reigniting our rivalries with Wesleyan and Trinity. And also hire Connecticut College's soccer coach. Can't wait to play Coast Guard along the Thames.

The Big 12 will not remain a power conference post-2025

You do realize that media controls the narrative and not message boards? Apart from UConn dropping it's football program. Only UConn fans can come up with that idea.

The Big 12 will not remain a power conference post-2025

Based on whatever I am reading from other non Big 12 fanbases and the media, the existence of Mormons will keep it a P5 conference.
