The most successful UConn men’s coaches pretty unselfishly help their better players figure out if the time is right for them to leave school early for the draft, and often it is to leave even though it might weaken the UConn team at least for a year or two. Who knows if Beers is seeking advice...
While i have Ts from the various championships, the back to back coinciding more or less with my birthday has led me to receiving a lot of Ts and some other apparel. Amazingly. only 2 of the Ts are similar. Very little need to do laundry.
So is the definition of a “true point guard” a player who really is limited to playing point? Because the only reason Paige doesn’t meet that definition is because she can play so many other roles. As pointed out, if she ain’t a point guard nobody is. Personally, i don’t know why Geno would...
Why don’t you wait for a few meaningful dropped passes first. Last year’s dropped pass is old news as are some of the receivers who dropped some of those passes.
Its a nothing event in the spring . And a dropped pass this week can be a caught pass in October and vice versa. Each pass is its own little world. And to have a take on a QB off of last year is a bit premature. The summer will tell us more and the games even more.
Saw an article about the Russell kid. Annoying as hell  kid is something else. I hit a good shot my last round and i’m upper 70s. Age that is. Sheffler and Korda are on crazy streaks right now. They should procreate. A 7’4” golfer who can dunk a basketball with his/her teeth. Sheffler...
We have a coach who won’t be here forever, who half the BY was ready to run out of town 18 months ago. We have the BY cheering when every good player goes pro after a year or two. The portal has made that less of an issue. If the portal is modified somehow to reduce the ease of program jumping...
Wes B 40 vs Rutgers who had 39 for Rutgers in an epic show between the #1 and # 3 scorers in the country, UConn won in a nail biter that cost Rutgers an NIT bid when the NIT was a big deal. One of the best games I’ve ever seen in person along with the Dream Team going back to back over GTown and...
Yeah, Coach told Boston there would be no point in her choosing UConn. These writers just have to write whatever silly thoughts pop into their heads. Kinda like me saying that Beers has no right to make the BY wait, spending hour after hour on our devices waiting for her decision and ignoring...
Glad you added a bit of insight. From a 10 second clip there is nothing to conclude he was just there fooling around. He was in the gym and unlikely there just to do that clip. Hoops is still just a game and he was having a little fun.
All the old PAC 12 teams from CA that jumped to the BigG will be flying into snow country a bit. Plus, having flown between CT and SoCal dozens of times during the winter I haven’t had a single cancellation or delay and just jinxed myself.
Exactly. Palo Alto
Exactly. Palo Alto is close to LA the way Baltimore is close to Storrs. My son and fam live walkable to UCLA and do not see the Stanford area as being close. Obviously it is much closer than Storrs. I’m in CT. I have another son near Syracuse. It’s about as easy for me to...
There is certainly some expectation by freshmen recruits that it’s their turn at least by year 2. We had this supposed Fab Five , 2 of whom only played in garbage time, 2 of whom saw more time but in reality not much time in the last half of the year for one of them. and the best of the group...
The only reality for not staying is the risk of serious injury. These guys are not going to diminish their draft status and pay day by staying in college another year.
Maybe it’s more attractive to some high level recruits to see a sure lottery pick want to continue playing for that program. Yeah, most of us see the big bucks. but you are talking about 19 or 20 year olds who will not be living the easiest life either for most of the year as a pro.
I like travel. got over hating flying, that is until recently when parts starting falling off models I fly on. I don’t get paid, quite the opposite. Going cross country in a month on a Boeing model that has been in the news. Keeping my seat belt fastened. I have Tara by a few years, too.
Same experience in my law school league with a guy who had played college ball. Didn’t break anything but was pretty darn fast and hard. Took a lot of getting used to.
Geno usually doesn’t like going above 13, rarely 15 scholarships. But the injury toll the last few years might have changed that. And i’m not sure why he would want any more guard or swing types. We look to be loaded with talent with not enough PT there. But definitely have room and need for a...
I was a fan as Jr High student in the late 1950s after a relative took me to a game at the old fieldhouse. Locked in as UConn student during the Kimball- Bialosuknia years.
Nothing like getting carried away. Maybe if Clingan and Castle come back. But over two seasons we will have lost all of our experienced , talented guards, with experienced being a major key. Maybe Diarra comes back. Guards win these games. It’s the thread with all of our NC teams. Unless he...
