UConn Conor lost his Dad yesterday.

There’s none better than Conor and his Dad, Denis. He was taken far too early and will be dearly missed by all who have known him.

    Flagg to Duke. Official

Good luck to him but I can’t help but feel his development and future interests were better served at UConn. Coach K is gone and Hurley is a superior mentor and coach!!

    He’s baaaaaack

Can’t speak for Sun games but he does a great job at Yard Goat baseball games and his YouTube video shows him to be one loyal of a UConn fan.

    He’s baaaaaack

Conor is a man of many talents and one who possesses a vibrant and out-going personality. He helps make every event special and freely shares his enthusiasm and joy in giving with all. We’re lucky to have him as a key member of the UConn team!!

    Ricky Moore news

Totally agree with all the positive Ricky Moore comments. We were at the 1999 Uconn championship game where both on offense, as well as defense, he was the star that helped us beat the highly favored Dukees!! That alone made us love him forever and we wrote, in the past, and told him so!

2024 Recruiting: Ahmad Nowell committed to UConn!

You might want to add Calipari and the Kentucky fan recruiting site to us unfortunates who aren’t living “in the real world.”

2024 Recruiting: Ahmad Nowell committed to UConn!

Calipari offered Nowell a scholarship in person and remarked about the guard’s abilities on both ends of the floor. “He talked about the things that he loved about me, how hard I played on offense, like my decision-making and my shot-making “ Nowell told the Inquirer. And Kentucky wasn’t...

Hurley agrees to new 6 year contract

Couldn’t be happier! Coach Hurley’s the best!! I guess, however, I don’t know how we afford this kind of salary increase (with hopefully even more increases to come to deserving assistant coaches). I’m obviously ignorant when it comes to our athletic program finances—only being aware of the...

    Women All-American 2022-23 Selections

Granted that both were essential to the success of their respected teams and that they play different positions , but who was more worthy to be selected to the 2022-23 Women’s All-American Second Team: UConn’s Aaliyah Edwards or Notre Dame’s Olivia Miles?

    UConn-Villanova thread re: Fouls

In all do respect, many threads can fall into the category of not positively stopping a given behavior… but, nonetheless, warrant being said.

    UConn-Villanova thread re: Fouls

Not when the complaints are legitimate and the flagrant fouls could cause injury to an already depleted lineup.

    Villanova Postgame Thread

Getting mauled is putting it mildly!! Not sure where they get some of these refs . Geno’s previous comments: “ This isn’t basketball. I don’t know what it is!” Definitely applied a number of times during this game!!

Why Adama Sanogo's 3-point prowess could mean more playing time for UConn freshman Donovan Clingan (Borges)

Makes every sense both defensively as well as offensively. From your lips to Danny’s ears!!!!!

Totally agree!!!! From your lips to Hurley’s ears!!

    Creighton Post Game Thread

Hurley has, in large part, wasted Clingan’s talents. He apparently does not know how to use his big men —separately or in combination. He’s got three studs: Sanogo, Clingan and Johnson and cannot, or will not work with them to develop the chemistry to make them effective against many opponents...

    Chief’s Briefs - Georgetown Edition

Totally agree on failure to use double big lineup— Adama & Donovan with Sam subbing to keep both out of foul trouble.

Totally agree. This includes the pairing and use of the big guys based on the opponent.

    Sleeper Deep Dives: Donovan Clingan

Solid reasons-offensively and defensively -why both DC and AS should be on the floor at the same time. Hurley and staff have to help create the plays and chemistry between them that I’ll make it work. . ( Granted that all teams/players are different but Xavier and Coach Miller seem to have...

Video - Double intentional fouls in the Tenn game

When there’s a flagrant, obvious intentional act (by Jackson) regardless of initial, game -play entanglement, a flagrant foul would seem to be very much in order.

    Chief’s Briefs - Xavier Edition

Nunge’s “second chance” basket toward the end of the game, really hurt. Can’t help but wonder if Nunge couldn’t have been contained, to a greater extent, if Clingan had played more than 7 minutes. By the way he handles his “bigs” Hurley seems to coach strictly on the basis of a guard...

    Chief’s Briefs - Butler Edition

Last sentence regarding using “Double Big” (especially against tougher, future competition) is more than worthy of consideration. I’m beginning to think, however, that, that’s not going to ever happen under the present coaching approach.

Has Clingan's successs caused Sanogo to press?

As “Chief” indicates play both Adama and Donovan together and our chances of defending and scoring increase.

How do you feel right now?

I’m not as ready to give up on Hurley, but can’t help but feel he’s not using players in combination who can make a difference. Adama and Donovan on the court at the same time is a must. This seems to be a squandered opportunity and at this stage should have become more obvious. Jackson...
  27. H

How do you not put Clingan in on that last possession?

This couldn’t be more true! Adama and Donovan would compliment each other in multiple ways on both the defense and offense ends. True both on the floor against certain opponents might not work, but isn’t that where scouting and coaching comes-in? We have talented “twin tours”. We talk about...

Best player on this team is Donovan clingan

I wish there were enough minutes to assess the result of AS and DC complimenting the play of each other on both defense and offense. I think it might be quite positively revealing.

DH Post Game Press Conference 1/15

Some Yarders have been suggesting playing Sanogo and Clingan at the same time, allowing them to compliment one another, protect the rim, rebound and collect second chance points…and I agree with them …..even if there are some downsides like both fouling-out and dual player fatigue.

Why UConn is losing games? Simple: it's the defense

Totally agree with the suggested starting lineup. Sanogo and Clingan should be on the floor “at the same time”. There are certainly downsides (e.g, player fatigue, fouling out, etc. ) but key upsides: rim defense, rebounding/ second chance points. Hurley has two talented big men that can...
