2023-24 South Carolina regular season, Part 2

I didn't ever think about us having club sports in the same sports we have varsity, but our WBB club team won the national championship this week!

2023-24 South Carolina regular season, Part 2

I need the Liberty to draft some Gamecocks as I'm moving to NYC in a few years and will want to pull for them.

Doesn't Duke have to come to Columbia next season?

2023-24 South Carolina regular season, Part 2

Curtis is a good guy and was a great host/Emcee at basketball games.

    Sad Sign of the Times

My two most disliked teams are Clemson and Penn State, both because of interactions with fans of both schools when I was young. After those 2, the rest vary according to interactions with my favorite teams, South Carolina and Rutgers.

2023-24 South Carolina regular season, Part 2

Good find. I made the long walk from home (1 block) to the parade route.

2023-24 South Carolina regular season, Part 2

I've never seen the show, but I've heard about it. Columbia is in Richland County and the Richland County Sheriff is a big USC WBB fan.

Will South Carolina run it back and go undefeated in 2024-25?

I wonder if Vic is going to have his wife talk to me before the Texas game next year, if they play in Columbia. "Vic, we meet again. I bet you thought you were done with us when you left State."

I took a video of that, too, lol.

    Sad Sign of the Times

I have several family members that are Maryland grads and the first college fb and bb games I attended were there. It's still weird that they're in the Big 10.

Would Dawn Staley take the Stanford Job?

I haven't lived there, but I've certainly visited. My nephew lives in the LA area.

Would Dawn Staley take the Stanford Job?

Because California > SC? You get what you pay for.

    Hana Muhl to Manhattan College

Let's see, live in Muncie, In or NYC. It's a step up.

Would Dawn Staley take the Stanford Job?

I could only see her leave for the head coaching job with the Sixers.

    Tenn. has hired....

Honestly, when Kentucky hired Kenny Brooks, I said, "That's a slam dunk hire". Hopefully, this will pan out for Tennessee, but I see it as a risky hire.

    Tara announces retirement

Exactly; the travel schedule will be brutal.

2023-24 South Carolina regular season, Part 2

Leftover curry and a glass of wine. I'm looking forward to the parade on Sunday, especially since the parade route is only a 1 block walk from home.

Poll - How long will the Hillsman hire last?

I don't see Hillsman as a good enough coach or recruiter to accept the baggage.

Poll - How long will the Hillsman hire last?

I'm from the Northeast, I'm familiar with the differences, but IMO, people don't protest much in the South, they're more likely to accept the status quo.

Will South Carolina run it back and go undefeated in 2024-25?

I bet the SEC will go to only 1 team twice next season for 16 games total.

    Tenn. has hired....

    They didn't have her pedigree.
  22. cockhrnleghrn

Congrats to undefeated SC on the National Championship

My brother attended Maryland in the early to mid 70s. My first college game was at Cole Field House and my first college football game was at Byrd.

Will South Carolina run it back and go undefeated in 2024-25?

Many players already have endorsement deals; MiLaysia even has a butter sauce named after her at Mr. Seafood, along with an endorsement with Curry Brand/UnderArmour. As far as going undefeated, again, I think there's a 50/50 chance with 4 starters returning, plus the entire bench and 3 incoming...

    Tenn. has hired....

It does not; Gamecock fans were overjoyed with the Staley hire and knew she would win big with our resources and fan base compared to Temple.
  25. cockhrnleghrn

    Tenn. has hired....

The difference is that UCONN had hardly any WBB fans at the time of the hire.
  26. cockhrnleghrn

    South Carolina is beatable

I'm a Gamecock fan, but UCONN is bringing in a great class, also, and should be getting their injured players back.
  27. cockhrnleghrn

    Tenn. has hired....

I can't believe they fired Kelly to hire someone with one year of D1 experience.
  28. cockhrnleghrn

    South Carolina is beatable

The UCONN/USC game next season is going to be incredible.

    Final Four semis

They have little depth and were clearly exhausted.
