    Beer

Yes. Ive been to their brewery in Milford a few times. Rest of the stuff I have tried there I thought was just ok, but they hit it out of the park with Benji.

Definitely on the first part. I grant you maybe on the second part.

Maybe. I am convinced it was a probability until literally the last 24 hours.

2025 UConn Football Commit - Jordan Rich (Plantation, Florida)

I teach high school. I see many repetitive stress injuries that cut kids’ athletic careers short. I also see emotional burnout. Has been driven by the for-profit travel teams that brainwash kids that they have to specialize in order to get their college subsidized. Happy to report, though, that...

OT: Who felt the earthquake about 1030?

Yes in my greater New Haven high school class. Smart Board shook.

2025 UConn Football Commit - Jordan Rich (Plantation, Florida)

Obviously, I hope he stars for both programs, but I hope we become known as a school that allows this regularly. We could get some really good players that the more semi-pro institutions would force to specialize. Also, cross-training is usually better for both mind and body.

    Agreed. He struggled with that.

UConn Spring Football Updates (1st Practice 3/19/24)

I agree with your assessment that Buckman would be best used as a slot receiver and that he was sent downfield because the other options ended up not being as good as we needed. I guess I'm expecting a good year from him because I'm hoping we have more vertical threats in the WR this year...

UConn Spring Football Updates (1st Practice 3/19/24)

I thought Buckman was very good at receiver last year. I'm hoping for a lot from him this year.

Most likely they are that bad at the updates. It's a recurring theme.

Good point. I got nothing then. Good stuff from the guys from the New England Football Journal though.

UConn Spring Football Updates (1st Practice 3/19/24)

I think many of the prominent UConn football Twitterati are now producing content for Storrs Central. Not working for free anymore?

    Non-Key Tweets

More chatter recently about WSU/OSU resurrecting the PAC from the dead. Don’t know if they can pull it off, but interesting.

Key tweets, and it's all gone to Hell.

All public statements (and private comments from UConn people to fans) indicate we were in the Big 12 until literally the night before. I think we were overall Plan B, but became more of a Plan A as the PAC 12 media negotiations dragged on. Then the B1G came in and blew up the PAC. I honestly...

    Gordon Sammis Named OC

I loved Sammis as our OL coach. Natural progression for him to be an OC. Just because Giofre wasn’t able to succeed as OC here doesn’t mean all former OL coaches are doomed to failure as coordinators. I do hope we hire a young OL coach in the summer so Sammis can focus on coordinating. My gut...

UConn applications skyrocket to record high, surpassing 50,000 for first time

I teach at a public high school in the greater New Haven area. My seniors have been hyperventilating all week since that report about the record number of applicants came out, coupled with knowing that decision emails are going out today (Friday 3/1). I told them not to be surprised if they get...

Matt Brock - New Defensive Coordinator

I think it was a “not trust the personnel” issue more than anything. Two years ago I think they wanted to keep it simpler for a freshman Zion. Last year I think it was a 1) ease TR in and 2) step back in performance from the WR room. Hopefully TR’s knee is even stronger this year and the WR room...

    Northwestern starts stadium rebuild

Boxes with my theory that a "nerdy G-whatever" league might rise from the realignment ashes, along with some ACC/Calford remnants and (maybe??) UConn. What is Vanderbilt's stadium situation?

OT: Florida State to sue ACC over GOR

Institutionally overall I agree. And both are essentially Wake without the magnolias. However, overall having that strong football brand built from circa 1980 to about 2000 may get them a seat at the table.

OT: Florida State to sue ACC over GOR

I have always thought that Miami was not a strong candidate because they are essentially a smallish private which only relatively recently was relevant in the highest echelons of college football, and hasn’t been that great for about a generation now. But this is a good point. Those 40+ still...
