This wasn't a ranking, this is ONE media site naming her POY. None of the ranking services rated Fudd ahead of those two because they all rank players by class, not overall. And she was in a different class.
Interesting article. Four things:
1) Wonder why Jerzy Robinson's not playing club ball.
2) If she makes the U17 team and after a lot of hype, it will be interesting to see how Douglas reacts and plays with some actual body contact to work through.
3) The writer says " The PG leaders must emerge...
Fournier actually has good form and a decent release on her FTs. But that doesn't really matter that much if she doesn't have feel and depth perception. Plus she's never been taught how to use her best asset (her vertical jump) to go up straight to shoot in traffic from any distance. Her ceiling...
And if Auriemma decides to bring in 1 or 2 transfers this spring, doesn't that indicate that he believes he needs and wants more also? And then, because he's the one who decided he needed more and assembled the team this way, you'll be OK with it right?
Probably an experienced replacement for Spencer. The freshman coming in this fall, Isiah Abraham, can really shoot too. Plus UConn is in on McNeeley from Montverde. Maybe the top wing/shooter in the 2024 class. Was committed to Indiana but reopened his recruitment.
Don't know if this guy is good enough to play at UConn but he just went into the portal.

I’ll just say that I believe both Somfai and McGaughy are under ranked and I think both are better than Macy. Not only did Somfai arrive mid season at IMG but I’m not sure she’s played much. One game in early Feb. she only played 5 minutes and the most recent games she’s been in sweats on the...
There was no interest on either side coming out of HS and I doubt that would change. If you'd seen her in her McDonald's AA game this would make sense.
I don't see Auriemma recruiting over the 4 very good young guards he already has, two sophs and two freshman. And Olson isn't going to be looking for a place to share PT with Bueckers, Fudd, Shade, and Arnold. She'll be the lead guard someplace.
I would think UConn will notify her (Rodriguez) or them about their status as soon as they know their roster situation. And would try to do that prior to the end of the NLI signing period which begins April 17 and ends on May 15 if possible. Of course the kids are free to sign elsewhere if they...
I agree with Clay that this is fairly common but a shady way to do business. Reputable coaches like Auriemma, Staley, etc. will generally communicate honestly with recruits about where they stand with their priority regarding their offer. If it's conditional on roster spot availability, academic...
1) Glad to see that someone else picked up on this.
2) ESPN probably offered her the tournament platform to do the reveal like they do during the early signing period for FB and BB for others and she wanted to have a little fun with it and her teammates.
Correct. Bigs have to be skilled plus be physically and mentally tough. Guards and wings have to be able to process the game very quickly while playing really fast under control. Very few kids coming out of college have those combinations and that's why veterans in their late 20s and 30s can...
