I disagree, normally if you can shoot the 3 you are the featured player in a UConn offense. I would say KLS was the featured player at UConn for 3 seasons, and she was more of a guard forward (wing) and not a power forward.

With Ayana and Ice already headed this way, I be interested in seeing how CT would find minutes at Uconn especially if she’s a power forward.

Azzi guarding the other teams best player and locking her up, while showing an ability to be a play maker, and shooting 52% from deep, sounds like she is the perfect player starting next to Paige.

Keep in mind the players who were ahead of Diana, Sales, and Maya, I don’t see that same level of players ahead of Azzi. KG and Mel weren’t as talented as Maya, but one was a Senior and the other a Junior.

Instead of asking why, ask why not? It’s not like we have an all American shooting guard returning, or a proven jr and senior playing in front of her at her position. The only way I see her not starting next year it’ll be due to Geno going with 2 post players up front instead of the 4 guard line...
