Best character development of any show I’ve ever watched. It’s interesting, there’s no crazy storyline or action like you might get in other great series. It’s just a bunch of struggling people in Baltimore trying to get by, but the characters were so good the show didn’t need much else to be...
Couldn’t agree more with Hurley’s comments about CV. “He’s gotten the message and he’s so much of a better player now than he’s ever been.” His improvement this year has been impressive.
I also like what he said about Wilson putting in the extra work after being disappointed with his minutes...
That Tulsa loss still stings. Would have been a W on the road, and 13-7 would have us more in the mix both for the conference and postseason. The loss at USF isn’t as bad as I thought it was initially. They have had a pretty good bounce back year.
Melvin Frazier left early for the draft. Was by far their best player last year and not much other talent returned. This should be a good bounce back game for us.
Mike Dunleavy needs to recruit some players or else he’ll be on the hot seat. They really aren’t any better than they were before he...
I wouldn’t have either but my iPhone 6 is so slow that when I scroll my screen freezes and I inevitably end up clicking things I wasn’t trying to. Time for an upgrade.
That East Carolina loss could really hurt Cincy. Not a great OOC slate and didn’t make much of the few opportunities they had for quality wins. They need to hope UCLA turns it around to make that win look halfway decent. The Ole Miss win might end up helping them as well.
Nice to see Temple...
I agree. Still great ball pressure by AG and others but they weren’t overplaying to the point where they would pick up tick-tack fouls. Happy to see this adjustment by Hurley.
Nice brief as always, Chief.
I’m not surprised the team shot the ball well tonight. It’s not a coincidence it came on a night where the team took better care of the ball and cut down on fouls.
Shooting is mostly about skill/touch, but rhythm and momentum are important too. It’s hard for...
Yea I don’t think there’s any chance we get 5 unfortunately. The AAC had a bunch of wins against P5 and Big East teams in the non-conference but no statement wins really.
Overall the league needs to schedule better to give us more opportunities. There are teams in the conference that didn’t...
Lol. The American is like a crying baby on an
airplane. Everybody hates it but if it’s your crying baby you’re obligated to still love it. Just my opinion.
I think it’d be great for the conference if it could sneak four teams into the tourney: Houston, Cincy, UCF and Temple. Probably won’t happen but as of now those teams look decent in terms of the metrics.
Do you want me to point out the obvious? I was trying to keep things positive, but for anyone who already blocked it from your memory just a reminder that we lost to said Directional U last week.
I know most here (or anywhere) don’t give a frack about the 6th Power, but I’m one of the 8 people currently tuned in to ESPN News for the highly anticipated Houston vs. Temple game.
Temple up 7 at the half. Would be a nice W for the Owls.
Also on the docket is a matchup of perennial doormats...
All I see in this post are “what if’s”. What if DHam came back. What if AG and TL stayed healthy. What if the team played up to its potential. In reality DHam’s decision had nothing to do with the team’s outlook for the 2016-2017 season.
I think the poster was trying to say DHam figured out KO...
Don’t know what you’re talking about but not comparing him to KO. Just said I think he had a poor game coaching, just like the players had a poor game playing.
Didn’t say anything about a NCAA bid, so not sure what you’re talking about. Pulling a guy when he makes a mistake over and over again is called coaching.
Hurley sees these guys play in practice every day. He knows exactly what he has and it’s why he’s hitting the recruiting trail so hard.
No I haven’t, but I didn’t see him say much to the guys he pulled tonight after mistakes. There were also a handful of plays tonight where I thought he should have pulled guys and he didn’t. Didn’t think he coached a good game tonight.
Not sure I understand what Hurley’s substitution strategy was tonight. Seems like he was subbing just to get guys minutes instead of subbing based on who was playing smart and with effort. When the energy is that low and guys are making boneheaded plays left and right (turnovers, not boxing out...
Yea, they do need a few Q1 and Q2 wins. I wouldn’t be concerned too much about the NET and Kenpom rankings yet. If you look there are a bunch of schools from mid majors ranked in front of Temple now that will likely plummet once they start playing bad conference games. If Temple can avoid losses...
I think Temple would get in if they finish top 4 in conference. Would probably need a win against Houston or Cincy and no losses to ECU or Tulane.
They don’t have any great wins OOC but a bunch of solid wins, two of which were on the road. Only losses vs. VCU and at Nova.
Around the AAC...
USF with a win at FIU. USF has actually exceeded my expectations this year. Still not good but at least they beat some cupcakes and aren’t a huge embarrassment to the conference.
ECU on the other hand with a loss at Charlotte. ECU is the epitome of brutality.
Based on non-conference performance to date I think the AAC would get three teams in the dance: Houston, Cincy and Temple. That can/will change but UConn and UCF’s resumes aren’t impressive enough at this point. They might be on the bubble but on the outside looking in. Tulsa would be out but...
To answer your first question, if you read my post I said PC fans are saying UConn is scared to play them. I said that is nonsense. You went on to tell me not to look down on them (which I’m not) because they have a good team (which I know). I just said the reason we havn’t played them has...
The games you listed (Lafayette) don’t require an away game next year. If we did all home-and-home series in the non-conference we’d end up with something like 5-6 non-conference home games instead of 8-9. The school is not going to go for that. Unless you want to sacrifice the 3 games we play...
It has nothing to do with being cocky. Thinking UConn is scared to play PC is just stupid.
The reality is most UConn fans would enjoy a matchup with PC in the near future, including me. But I wouldn’t want to sacrifice games against big-name programs like Nova, Cuse, Zona and Florida to make...
According to PC fans on Twitter UConn is afraid to schedule them because they beat us in a charity exhibition game last year. Not kidding, this is actually what one of them is trying to explain to me right now.
Wasn’t Vance Jackson’s dad being mad online and threatening to leak damaging info about KO and the program a while back (pre Ollie firing)? Maybe he was the parent who knew about this.
Anyway these are minor infractions that won’t hurt UConn long term. With that said KO should have known he...
