    USC #1 & #2

She's a superstar. Her level of play for a frosh was off-the-charts. And in her interview she said the exact thing she is hoping to improve which is efficiency. But her Efficicency for what she had to do was amazing.

    USC #1 & #2

This might be true if we are talking overall All-Americans. But it's not even close to true if we are talking #1 recruit All-Americans which Sarah is. Number #1 recruits at UCONN have always had a freshman impact other than Megan Walker (MW did wind up being an impact player). All of the other...

    USC #1 & #2

4 players are especially important-- not that others are not - ofc all are needed to a degree. Many hre speak of Jana with very high hopes- I just need to see her vs USA players. But Geno did takl her up big time. - 1-- Azzi 2-- Sarah 3-- Jana 4-- Chen

We're looking pretty dog gone good

IMO way too much is made of height. It's so unfortunate these last 3 years UCONN has been decimated by injury. Because of those injuries, UCONN hasn't been able to battle with a team like South Carolina in a fair fight. On the General Board a post was made a while back mentioning how South...

    Welcome Kaitlyn!

Not the ultimate Goal but- Goals. My point to you was that there are other “Goals.” There is a video in which Geno is being interviewed this year as an example. I cannot post this due to copywrite issues but you can see on youtube – below in bold and underlined is the title. And at 1:06 of the...

    Welcome Kaitlyn!

There are going to be a lot of brutal blowouts this year.

They are also goals. You win awards for each.

    Welcome Kaitlyn!

. Still the same fundamentals. What's changed is the Portal. If UCONN was healthy-- the overrating of height would be minimized because UCONN would have probably won a title/titles. There's a reason why Geno is going after Kaitlyn .She can provide consistency of fundamentals. The game is and...

    Welcome Kaitlyn!

Actually it is a goal of the team. They have goals to win reg season, to win big east tourney, to win the region. These are stated goals. And as you know the last three years tehy have had massive injury issues. Expect Kailtyn to help UCONN keep pushing pace and hoepfully provide senior...

    Welcome Kaitlyn!

Who was the player at or over 6'4 during 02-03 and 03-04?

    Welcome Kaitlyn!

IMO its s threefold-- and as a result it impacts the perception of Kaitlyn- 1-- We have some old timers like myself that pre-Bird pre-Magic the NBA was dominated by bigs. 2-- Recency Bias - there hasn't been a super experienced perimeter player with a full team in a long time at UCONN. 3-- The...

    Welcome Kaitlyn!

Who's going to defend the great guard play UCONN has? The entire league could barely handle Clark. UCONN adding now another shooter/scorer. In addtion Sarah Strong is a "rebounder."

    Welcome Kaitlyn!

    Excellent pickup.

paige as next season's point guard

For clarification - After I made my post to you- I noticed in another post that you said the following-- I didn't notice before - "I would expect Bueckers to play 15-20 minutes a game at pg, starting and finishing games there." So, maybe we aren't arguing? Are you suggesting that Paige plays...

It is going to take me a while to soak this all in. Thank you for the well thought out post. :):):)

MAJRS / JMASK vs TASSK First Year

The best rotation if healthy late in season would probbaly be 8 players (not counting CD as a rotation player due to time off.Not a question of health).

MAJRS / JMASK vs TASSK First Year

Great fun post. TY for posting!!!!! Welcome!!!!!!!! Can I ask - what are your thoughts as to if UCONN had Beers and were healthy -how awesome would the team be without pressing? Secondly, at what point in the game (half time? Or mid-3rd qtr? Start of 4th qtr? Later? Other?) do you feel UCONN...

paige as next season's point guard

Where is it written that a pg needs to be a ball hog that she needs to get all the assists? If she doesn’t need to get all the assists then how is it bad if she were to come off a pick and score about 20 ppg instead often 35-40 ppg you suggest others are implying? If you are okay with Paige...

Raegan Beers to UConn or OU

Hahah -- very funny. C'mon. Better"fit?" So a big time inside scorer that has zero chance to be double-teamed much at all is a worse fit? Also-- for playing pro ball when games are played at a fatser pace in which your team has multiple great scorers-- it wouldbe "a better fit" that she plays...

Raegan Beers to UConn or OU

Since when is getting to Final Four and Finals a bad thing? So, what did they get?-- Well, they won their Region for the Final Four. Among the 4 best teams in all of wcbb. That's no good? And do you really want to go there with UCONN not winning a title these past 3 years???? You seriously...

Raegan Beers to UConn or OU

And sometimes they didn't . So, why should it be a rule? Secondly, I would have liked to hear if this kid from Boston could score. You mention put backs-- that is scoring.
  22. hoophuskee

Raegan Beers to UConn or OU

So what? UCONN go to the Final Four and seconds away from the Finals wihtout a shot blocker. Iowa beat SC the year before without a shot blocker. The team that scores the most points wins all the time. Not the team with the most blocked shots or rebounds.

paige as next season's point guard

She actually is a pg simulataneously a sg and a sf. However, the team runs her off of picks to score as much as she does and she is defending non-pg's her position defintion gets cloudy.
  24. hoophuskee

Raegan Beers to UConn or OU

I have the exact opposite view. I can't wait to see Sarah at the PF - having a PF with her type of outside shot along with 3 guards able to drill shots from the perimeter and with elite passing all would open the paint -- and if you add in Beers - the Offense would be over-and-above-tremendous...

Raegan Beers to UConn or OU

I said "usually," - you said "depends." IMO we are not far off. :).IMO he "usually" does not trust the bench as much because the certain core combinations (1-7/8) worrk much better together than the 9th/10th players off the bench can. As a result, playing that 9th/10th player in big games...
  26. hoophuskee

Raegan Beers to UConn or OU

Geno doesn't use a deep bench in big games usually.
  27. hoophuskee

Raegan Beers to UConn or OU

Sarah Strong on the defensive end should be a power rebounder.
  28. hoophuskee

paige as next season's point guard

Until we know Beers iscoming - just looking at best style most utlizing Paige is that she is a combo PG/SG/SF. And on Defense Sarah will play PF because she is an excellent rebounder. That is huge for our Defense. And on Offense you can put Sarah anywhere similar toPaige in an opposite way. But...

paige as next season's point guard

And she can pass at any position. :)
  30. hoophuskee

paige as next season's point guard

From 5:19 left in 4th qtr and in both overtimes the lineup was Paige, Azzi, CWilliams, AE and Liv. Nika came in for 26 seconds for Defense. IMO No way Azzi was the pg druign this time unless she brought up the ball rare time. Maybe I'm worng? I seem torecall Paige bringing it up and making plays...
  31. hoophuskee

paige as next season's point guard

Paige is basketball player as the OP suggested. If she plays 1/2/3/4 it doesn’t matter. OFC some teams she shouldn't play the 4 but the point is to relegate/limit her to be just a pg has the potential vs some opponents to limit her shot attempts in favorable positions is not something that...
  32. hoophuskee

paige as next season's point guard

Morgan Cheli would be the 3rd pg.

    Ice Brady's Freshman Year

Don't agree what you're saying in re to Geno -- you say it's not about Geno but you make comments in bold below as you have done -- it is about Geno. And overall it's not accurate and/or misrepresents Geno. I do agree with you that at times Ice didn't make best use of her time. -- But that is...

    Ice Brady's Freshman Year

Well again I don't agree. I hope my post doesn't come across as mean. It is not meant to be. - Anyhow, I asked before to name the player’s Geno blew it with - with post play. You only spoke of Ice. Who else? Let's discuss them along with Ice? You are making a sweeping comment he has a quick hook...
