But there is no need for them to expand at the moment. When the ACC leftovers become available, it will be a different story.

Clearly, they didn't care when they took the four corner schools and left UConn hanging. I live in NYC and there are a lot of Syracuse people here. The tendency is to take "power" conference members first if they are available. When UCF, Houston, BYU,. and Cinci were added, there were no other...

How did you become a UConn fan?

Born a UConn fan. Went to Field House games in the 70's. Lived in the Frat Quad. Not many guys from my dorm went to the games. Different time, I guess. Used to be able to just walk in at game time.

Big East - Big 12 Challenge Going Away After This Upcoming Season

I would like to see a totally new conference form. UConn plus former Big East peers and some ACC leftovers. UConn bans BC from joining.

And neither are some of us here! For me, he is perfect.

I hate to be this way, but don't believe it. If they really wanted UConn, they do not need to wait until the ACC breaks up. They would invite UConn now. As a matter of fact, they would much more likely take Louisville, Pitt, and maybe Cuse to get the NYC market before UConn.

OT: Florida State to sue ACC over GOR

They should move the trial to Connecticut! Judge Blumenthal!

UConn AD returns to Phoenix area, where he once worked for Arizona State (AzCentral)

I think he has done a great job here. I believe he really tried to get UConn into a power conference but now realizes it is not happening. Can't blame him for wanting to go to a power school.

Key tweets, and it's all gone to Hell.

Sadly, it has nothing to do with basketball. Only football matters. The thing I don't understand with the new realignment is how the SEC and B1G members reassigned to a new conference feel about getting less money. Also what is the effect on TV networks that fund the conferences. The B1G and SEC...

Key tweets, and it's all gone to Hell.

Scary article. All current P5 members and SMU will be in. All others will be out, but may be able to earn a spot if they improve. Bottom feeders in the P5 can continue to be bottom feeders and will be forever safe. Terrible news for UConn. SMU was very smart to get into the ACC even if it meant...

Fox - Big East exclusive negotiating window

It is a different world now. All conferences require travel. Arizona will have to travel to UCF and they are not complaining (yet). None the less the Big 12 ship has sailed so you need not lose any sleep over travel.

The Unfortunate Truth of Basketball Success

We are all hoping for something like that, but I would not count on it. For some reason, Cuse, BC, Pitt, don't realize that adding UConn would actually resurrect their flailing athletic programs.

The Unfortunate Truth of Basketball Success

If you read comments on other media sites, your post rings very true. Perception is always that UConn has been left behind despite basketball success.

    Tournament (Non-UConn) Thread - Sweet 16

I didn't mean that the officiating in this game was suspect. I meant that the officiating in the Big East may have made them look better than they were. Next we will see what Creighton looks like

    Tournament (Non-UConn) Thread - Sweet 16

Maybe when the big east chosen team doesn't get favorable officiating that they get in the big east, they are not so great.

ACC replacement list: UConn, USF, Memphis, Tulane, Washington State, Oregon State

I am assuming that they never tried. Maybe they still won't try.

ACC replacement list: UConn, USF, Memphis, Tulane, Washington State, Oregon State

I am hoping the credit stays, but I am also hoping CT legislators that support UConn get use it for leverage with ESPN to get UConn into a power conference.

    Big East Statement

The letter is about as weak a letter as can be written. An opposite tactic needed to be taken. In the new America, one can speak out and not have to bite one's tongue any longer. Take a page from a politicians handbook. The letter should have said the committee is rigged and crooked, it is a...

ACC replacement list: UConn, USF, Memphis, Tulane, Washington State, Oregon State

For me, no one in the big east is important. UConn should be playing like minded public universities, and perhaps a few brand name private large universities. People fear that UConn will go back to AAC days if they leave the Big East, but circumstances were very different back then, UConn...

UMass > MAC for all sports in 2025-2026

It is not heresy, it is hearsay. Heresy has to do with religious doubt. Hearsay is when you get information from a third party and try to present it as fact to a judge. Did you even attend UConn? You would know the difference between heresy and hearsay. I heard what I heard on the webinar...

UMass > MAC for all sports in 2025-2026

Concrete proof? I heard what I heard on a webinar. There is no recorded document as far as I am know. I think there is no question UConn was next in line until the PAC blew up. It came as a surprise to the UConn administration. No doubt about that.

You spoke with 5 people but didn't hear it yourself. Sorry. Hearsay is not admissible in court. As a famous judge would say "Don't tell me what anyone told you!". You are playing the telephone game. What I heard was unmistakable and I am not deaf. The AD stated that he went to sleep thinking...

He is the one who said it on the webinar! LOL! Anyone can say they spoke with someone in the administration, but there is no proof that they did! This was stated in public. Somewhere there must be a documentation of the webinar. You can also ask the head of the bleeding blue for good NIL...

There were only about 37 people on line for that. Mostly former football players and some donors. Overall, pretty sad support for football.
