    OT: great voices

Saw David Pittsinger in South Pacific several years ago at Ivoryton Playhouse. Remarkable performance - better than Ezio Pinsa. Good news: He's currently in Sound of Musics at Ivoryton....still remarkable as Captain Von Trapp.

    YouTube TV just dropped SNY

It's been several years since I've been able to watch UCONN WCBB - I have no interest in buying a "package" (ie.some sports channel) because I would only watch UCONN WCBB. I would (assuming a "reasonable" price) definitely purchase a UCONN WCBB package. FWIW: I currently subscribe to NHRA.TV...

    Late game on Monday

Thank goodness for YouTube highlights. 4:am (I couldn't figure how to stream radio - Now I can get back to sleep) Wow...the Bearrs were shooting the 3;s

    Late game on Monday

Bias? I'm afraid it's an accurate prediction.

    OT, YouTube TV price increase

Wonder if there'll ever be an option to just buy the UCONN Women games?

    "Priced Out" of UCONN Fandom

Nan - Free trial. I feel guilty (knowing I intend to quit) signing up for “free” deals. Besides, too often, I forget to cancel. DOH! ThisJustin - Radio or Radio Streaming SHOULD be simple but I have a tough time accessing the UCONN Network, My problem, I suppose. MBR33CT – I appreciate the...

    "Priced Out" of UCONN Fandom

Started watching UCONN WCBB in 1995 - Never missed a game on CPTV - Sure the half-time (and every other break) begging got old but, catching every game bonded me as a fan. Lately, not so much. While I can afford it, I'm just too stubborn to subscribe to (how many?) pay channels just to see...

    Lou interview in French

Subtitles are now available for the entire interview. Wow! an eye opener.

OT: Olde Coach would be proud (merged thread)

Why did I think this would be about free throw shooting? Wasn't that something Old Coach used to talk about?

Paige signs NIL deal with Bose

I'm confused (my typical state). Doesn't Page actually have 3 years of eligibility left? I mean, didn't they throw the Covid year out?

OT: ny international auto show 2022

Marketing people seem obsessed with all electric. While I'm not in the market for a new car, I'd like to see more plug-in hybrids. Given the short hops I make - with the occasional road trip - Plug-in would seem ideal. That said, the "premium" one has to pay to be trendy, can still buy a LOT...

So What the Heck Are You Doing Until 9:30 Tonight?!?!?!

Maybe a bucket list deal...the concussion factor must be off-the-scale but, I'd rather savor a longer day - 2 at a time. FWIW: Both Charlotte and Las Vegas are wonderful facilities.

So What the Heck Are You Doing Until 9:30 Tonight?!?!?!

Healthcare and Amazon scams? Those are new to me. I'm still (after a short respite) getting the car warranty and calls from "Comcast" wanting to fix my router. The good news: NHRA is racing (4 Wide) in Las Vegas (and I have a season pass).

    OT: Car rental in Europe

What Dibster said: TripAdvisor - This has been asked and answered IN GREAT DETAIL many time on various forums there.. I never buy the excess insurance - many "premium" credit cards will cover you. Just for additional comfort - get a letter from your credit card company BEFORE you travel Have fun!

    Paige "right on schedule"

Doesn't anyone think she might need to "knock off some of the rust" before the BigEast Tournament?

OT Six tvs crapped out in the last 7 years.

Maybe I'm lucky but, I used my 33" Samsung for - at least - 5 years, then re-purposed it for the primary monitor on my desk top for another (at least) 5 years. As a TV it worked - maybe - 2 hours a day but - as a monitor - it averages 10-plus hours a day.

    RIP Bob Dole

They were called, "The Greatest Generation" for a reason......Sorry, there are not a lot of them left anymore. 'Course, they didn't talk much about themselves.

    Umlaut

Thanks so much - I never heard that explained before. No kidding, I knew there was something "off" with my name (no snark please) all my life but your explanation was quite enlightening.

    OT: Facebook or Fakebook?

Does FB cause a mountain of unsolicited e-mails or SPAM - Can I lurk - That is, check out accessible groups (Like The Boneyard) without opening up to assault. BTW: I'm assuming some "group" require you to "sign up" to said group, no?
  25. JimGunther

    OT: Facebook or Fakebook?

I've resisted Facebook (and all social media) for years. I only participate in a couple "hobby forums" such as the Boneyard. Is there a way to monitor specialty areas of Facebook without really participating? I'm tempted to plug-in so I can access news and, perhaps, buy stuff. I don't want it...

    Never, never, never give up!

    Avatar

My avatar (on this board) was inspired by Nan's use of celeb avatars: It's the edification of classic and elegant (everything I'm NOT) Cary Grant. My avatar on Linked-In is my favorite black cat. Some folks should NOT post their own photos.

OT/ Most Pasta for your Buck in Connecticut

That's the jingle I remember ('tho I jumbled the second part of the verse). I think the "drink" was the milk shake for - I think - eleven cents. Boy, am I old.

    RIP Lloyd Price

I think I bought Lloyd Price and Paul Anka's Greatest Hits albums at the same time (They had similar jackets). Wore them out on my crappy portable record player (with a crappier "diamond" needle). Unfortunately, my only other memory of Lloyd Price: My brother was working at the Saverin...

    Geno and Q

For me it's Rutgers. I'll never forget Coach What's Her Name intimations about Geno's conduct......What a scoundrel! BTW: Is she still coaching?

(OT) What's been your reaction to Covid-19 vaccine ?

Wife, daughter (a health care worker <and immuno-compromised as a bonus>) all had both Pfizer shots at Griffin Hospital facility. No issues for any of us. My only observation: using the Govt websites was a P.I.T.A. Earliest myt wife and I could schedule was 40 days in the future at a site in...

Dawn in retrospect with comments and a question - what constitutes throwing players under the bus?

My take away from her presser (in addition to a WTF regarding the ball observation) - after such a hard-fought battle -that could have gone either way - there was no way she was going to say "Congrats - my guys played tough but we'll be back" .. Kind of ungracious but, typical Dawn.
