    2024 Recruiting: Liam McNeeley 2.0

Agreed. The goal should be to offer among the best NIL packages and the best basketball experience. From there, the coaches can make character a judgement. I’ve found that people that consider financial factors in their decisions are often among the most responsible. It isn’t necessarily a...

    PAC dysfunction

I guess I don’t understand what the PAC ever did to USC. Framing it as insulting and unfair that the PAC has rights to their spring game seems disingenuous. You leave a conference, it comes with some penalties.

    OT: Greg Doyle

He’s come after us many times. Same with Wetzel and Forde.

    KO out as Nets coach

Ollie was fantastic the first few years. He lost his mental edge and let everything slide. Life is tough sometimes. I’m ready to forgive and forget. Life is better that way.

    OT: Luke's Dad's best movie

I’ve definitely seen Groundhog Day the most. Not sure it’s the best, but it always sucks me in.

    KO out as Nets coach

KO wasn’t considered a permanent solution in Brooklyn anyway, was he? I thought it was a known temp gig.

“Right Now College Basketball is Owned By Connecticut.”

I feel the same. Not sure why exactly, I just don’t get it.

    Alex Karaban hints coming back

Yes. Maybe not while at UConn, but for an NBA career, definitely.

    Alex Karaban hints coming back

Be careful, some dummy will laugh at this comment. Alex needs to tweak his shot for the pros. His release is being slowed by his odd release and his consistency is being effected as well. He needs to straighten it out and his game will be viewed as multitudes better.

SNL cold open - NCAA Tournament

There are episodes that really blow, but they still kill it a lot of the time. It’s hard to hit a homerun every time. I don’t think any era was funny the bulk of the time, with the exception of the Farley years. I generally expect 60% or so of the show to make me laugh. It’s been the case with...

UConn plays an “Old Big East” style… “They Are Inevitable”

And the old Big East never played offense like we do.

Wild Dreams: The BE Could Kill the ACC

That’s 50x better than the AAC was. Should be 20+. Doesn’t mean they’d get it though.

    Alex Karaban hints coming back

It also doesn’t help that he has the funny form on his jumper. Needs a rebuild for the NBA.

She definitely “takes charge” of things.

    Kara Wolters

Kara lives in Somers these days and is heavily involved in the community doing all kinds of great stuff for the kids of the town. She’s very hands on organizing and volunteering.

    Jim Mora: Something feels different

It’s clearly an odd situation. Maybe he felt a need to take a step back and start over. Last season was a disaster after a promising year one. Hopefully, he was taking some time to re-evaluate and get his head straight before diving back in. There’s definitely some value in stepping outside the...

    2024 Recruiting: Tarris Reed Jr.

I’ll be the one to go out on limb. I think he’s very talented and was poorly coached. He’ll do big things here. He’s got obvious touch, skill and physical gifts. Not much more you can ask for.

    2024 Recruiting: Tarris Reed Jr.

I’m still trying to figure out who this staff has really missed on. If they want him, we should want him. They’ve been killing it on transfers.

Big Blue Nation having a very normal Tuesday

We have this program in a place where we should be able to continue on without Hurley when the time comes. Just keep winning, providing resources and doing things the right way and when the time comes, a great coach will find it an honor to take the job. What we can’t become, is a Kentucky. If...

    Hurley's Cam shove

This is what I thought too. Cam is every bit as nuts as Hurley. I hope we can replace that fire and energy with some other competitive freak.

    The transfer portal opens today

Reed has plenty of talent. I think our coaches would turn him into something. He has finesse and good touch. He’s by no means an offensive project.

    Upcoming Gampel Enchantments

Why? I thought it seemed amazing for fans on paper, I haven’t been. I just felt it was too small which would make getting tickets tough.

    Non-Key Tweets

Also, I don’t believe you are even factoring in the ticket revenue football would add by being in a power conference. It’s a big number.

    Billy Donovan to Kentucky? NM

Fair enough. He can definitely work a room. That certainly helps in recruiting. I do agree with Nelson that the cheating was a leading factor though. He’s been cheating all the way back to Camby and Co. It’s hard to decipher just how good a recruiter he’d be without all of that dirty money...

    Billy Donovan to Kentucky? NM

Cal has continued to recruit in the NIL era, but he may still have the biggest war chest in the game. Prior to NIL, World Wide Wes delivered him player after player and everyone turned a blind eye to it. His recruiting talent was just as much about getting illegal resources as it was about...

    Kimani and Luke Returning

I’m glad they both love it here but if one of them gets offered a great job, the message may change real quick. That’s just life.

    Jim Mora: Something feels different

I’ve been waiting for news to drop that we have a new OC. I suspected that Mora might then quietly exit for “personal reasons” and the new OC would be named HC. That would keep the staff intact. Its hard to see him sticking around too long as he disassociates with us on social media. Weird.

    Kimani and Luke Returning

I’ve noticed people saying Storrs a lot lately. I think it’s because Hurley loves to play up the “Basketball Capital of the World” angle in reference to Storrs. It seems like it’s part of his branding message on the regular.

Key tweets, and it's all gone to Hell.

The ACC pretending basketball doesn’t matter isn’t a great idea when the B12, the only conference they are really competing with, values it tremendously.

Big Blue Nation having a very normal Tuesday

Accepting that Northeasterners don’t travel well is just part of life. It’s a cultural thing. People in the Midwest and South travel for college sports. People in the West and Northeast travel for culture and rest (and sometimes pro sports). It just doesn’t matter. Dan Hurley probably doesn’t...

Last night was Russell vs Chamberlain

Clark got hyped so heavily by the media that the women brought in a bunch of new fans this year. I personally know several retired people, including my in-laws) that weren’t even fans that are now obsessive Clark leg humpers. These same people didn’t watch the men’s title game—it was far too...

How did you become a UConn fan?

I went to a game at the Fieldhouse with a friend and his dad when I was a young kid. We played Seton Hall on January 30, 1985 and won. Many archives show the game was at HCC, it was not. Seton Hall didn’t get HCC status until a few years later when they improved. Earl Kelley was the man and...
