This is why I'm not worried about it. 8/9 seeds are always a little scary, but FAU probably should have been a bubble team, so to me they're not as strong as a usual 8/9. Then there's Auburn, who's good but had only one Q1 win going into the conference tournament. So I understand that KenPom and...
It's March, I'm terrified because this is one and done. I have no doubt I will be terrified until 2:45 on Friday, at which point I will see our team play basketball and be reminded how good we are.
This is the first time since he got here that he took a Calhoun technical. Tactical instead of losing his cool. It absolutely affected how the rest of the game was called.
Kentucky has improved defensively. They pretty much shut down the paint against Tennessee. Knecht got his but the rest of the team shot 31% from the floor combined.
They're both great. I love Gus' passion, but I feel like he calls the game fairly too and doesn't just gas everyone up like Dickie V. Jackson is just really good, you can tell he knows the game but also does his preparation.
I'm doing everything I can to enjoy this run but I can't stop hoping that he comes back next year. He and Nowell would be a fantastic 1-2 punch running the point.
The line movement that happened in that UAB game was insane. Vegas knows their stuff; that coupled with Temple playing horribly does not look good at all.
I expect Donovan to be highly motivated to shut down Oduro today, after his struggles doing so last time. The million dollar question is what kind of whistle are we looking at?
The way I understand it (and I could be over simplifying it) is that the 20-21 season doesn't count towards your eligibility if you were a student athlete. So in theory, if Cam got hurt in '22 he could've put in for a redshirt, since that season does count against his 4 years of eligibility.
He barely played in that one season. Technically you're right that he used his eligibility but to say he didn't miss out on anything doesn't do a good enough job explaining what happened. And I get that as the NCAA rules are on the books he should be done, but he's asking for an exception, which...
I get the argument and understand why his appeal was rejected but I disagree that it's an appeal to emotion. If the same exact injury happened a year later he would have played the exact same amount of basketball as now but would likely be eligible next year. A huge chunk of players eligible in...
I get why it was rejected; I'm just saying he still lost out on a year. Many of his peers got to play five full seasons and he only got four.
I wasn't expecting that argument to work but I certainly see the logic behind it.
