I think biggest need is an experienced quality ball handler / shooter with decent size. Diarra / Nowell both in the 6 ft range, Ball 6' 3".... I think all 3 will have big roles next year. But a quality / experienced 6' 4"+ guard (like Brea) would be a big help.
Not sure what Ray meant by ony 2 coaches have won 2 championships? 17 coaches have won at least 2 titles....maybe he meant 2 titles in a row but even that is 8 coaches I think. Love you though Ray :D
You can't compare leaving UConn football for greener pastures to leaving UConn basketball....UConn BB is at the pinnacle of the sport for the past 30 years. No reason for DH to leave UConn for another school...NBA a different story.
Calhoun had sustained excellence really from 1990 to 2011. JC didn't win a title until 99 but during the 90's UConn made 3 elite 8's & 3 more sweet 16's before 99....UConn was in the mix evey year before 1st tiltle and at or near the precipice of CBB for a solid 20 years under Calhoun.
I don't...
not to parse words but i think what he said was....no way that should be a concern. He leaves the door slightly cracked purposeful or not...which is fine for UConn contract negotiation purposes but you can see how people think he's open to leaving.
Only two options - meet Hurley and agent, or just a Craft biz trip. I don't know that there's much reason for a coal magnate to go to NYC for business, and since the plane hasn't been up there all year, I'd wager this is indeed a Hurley gathering.
I guess Coach K hasn't spent much time in CT lately....we barely have winter here anymore. I think Dan & Andrea can handle a month of winter Coach K....give your lame weather advice to someone that cares
Justified was an all-time great series set in Harlan, Kentucky....so KY has that going for it.
Although it WAS filmed CA, guess they couldn't convice Timothy Olyphant to spend time in KY either ;)
Have no idea what yahoo knows about NBA draft but have both DC & Castle in top 5....the rest of UConn in 2nd round

Isn't Sampson going to need to develop some sort of outside game if he hopes to play as a pro somewhere?
He's not a true 5, he has the body of 3/4....if he had some outside game would be a game changer for him.
Congrats on a terrific season Tristen....much deserved!

Plain & simple you don't make a borderline foul call in closing seconds that will end the game...you let games be decided by made or missed shots unless a foul is blatant & obvious.
Were the Refs straight out told to get Caitlin to Monday night if you have the opportunity to...probably not, but...
My thoughts exactly....why because Sampson coached in the vaunted big12 with zero final 4 teams & played NOBODY in non-conf....a joke.
Kelvin Sampson, Houston 23
Dan Hurley, Connecticut 21
Lamont Paris, South Carolina 8
T.J. Otzelberger, Iowa State 4
Danny Sprinkle, Utah State 4...
I would hate to be forced to ever hate DH...but if he left UConn for KY (or any other CBB) he would be dead to me. If he "retired" from UConn and then at some point decided to get back into coaching and went elsewhere, that's kosher....but jumping ship directly, dead to me.
NBA is fine to jump...
