Lane Kiffin latest coach to pull scholarship from committed player

Did Kiffen call these players a week or 2 ago to tell them their scholarship was safe?

    JerseyBoycott?

Yes, but Scott never committed. No problem pulling an offer to a kid that's uncommitted. Offers have unspoken deadlines in most cases.

    Bob Diaco FIRED

I was wondering about the timing. If that's true that your President/AD have something up their sleeve, then it is a brilliant strategy. If they just came to their senses, then I think its mass confusion going forward with this timing.

Rutgers has given up 143 consecutive points without scoring.

Geez, what a historian. A denialist who thinks the world is flat, the moon is made of cheese and the Holocaust is fiction. Good luck to you.

Rutgers has given up 143 consecutive points without scoring.

The Terry Shea is where this "Rutgers has sucked for 50 years" came from. Prior to that we had decent teams for the level of competition we played. Schiano had to clean that all up and subsequently we went to 9 bowls in 11 years. We had winning teams in the 60's, including an undefeated team...

Rutgers has given up 143 consecutive points without scoring.

No, what I said was that Flood set us back from all the progress made under Schiano (paraphrasing myself) and that was analagous to what Pasqualoni did to your program after Edsall left.

Nice comeback. So much for civil discourse.

I thought we were discussing the football program. Bball is for another thread.

Rutgers has given up 143 consecutive points without scoring.

I'm certainly not justifying giving up points in a historic fashion these past 2 games. I'm just saying our previous coach almost completely tore down the program with poor recruiting, lack of on and off team discipline, and poor work habits on his part. Ash has to overcome all that plus...

Rutgers has given up 143 consecutive points without scoring.

If you say so. I guess a 2-10 record in BD's first season in the AAC qualifies you to extrapolate a better result with RU's B1G schedule so far. I'm sure that roster would have just overwhelmed this year's version on UW, OSU, and Mich. Thanks for the detailed response.

Let's see, tell me how you guys would do playing the #'s 2, 4, and 5 teams in the first 6 weeks of a new coaching tenure after firing Paul Pasqualone?

    Should UCONN be in B1G?

WingU, whether I agree with you or not, at least you backed up your argument with some opinions (not facts, but that's OK). I wasn't posting this to troll, but some message board police feel that any point of view other than theirs is trolling. So be it.

AAC rules...Rutgers..fans want a new coach too..

Schiano did what he had to do to build RU's program from the dredges of Terry Shea and company. He did right by his players, is/was an EXTREME micromanager who had difficulty holding onto assistant coaches because he expected them to work as hard as he did. He is also a good man, as evidenced by...

You want to talk value using hard $'s? Rutgers just-signed IMG deal worth far less than UCONN's

If you say so. Sure wish we could trade places with you guys.

You want to talk value using hard $'s? Rutgers just-signed IMG deal worth far less than UCONN's

What happens to UCONN's contract when it expires in several years? Do you really think it will have the same value as it did in the old Big East?

Root for the Rutgirls Thursday night?

I was referring to the new ACC which I'm sure will pick you guys up. In all seriousness, the trash talking is fun and maybe gets out of hand (that's what fans do), but the whole realignment situation is a mess. I'm thrilled we are in the B1G for whatever reason, but I wish UCONN the best of luck...

Root for the Rutgirls Thursday night?

So hard to stay civil with (former) rivals. So I'll just sign off this thread with the news that the Empire State Bldg will be red on Thursday night in support of RU, as released in a press statement. Thanks for the memories.

Root for the Rutgirls Thursday night?

Oh, please....you guys rightfully gloated when you were co-champs a few years ago. And you'd trade places in a nanosecond whether it was Temple, WVU or Oshkosh State.

Root for the Rutgirls Thursday night?

Whether or not RU wins and goes to BCS bowl, they are already co-BE champs, so that goes with them to the B1G.

Root for the Rutgirls Thursday night?

That's what I'll miss about this rivalry. It doesn't matter what's best for the team, its the irrefutable hatred of each other's team (and it really should be relegated to the fans, the players are just innocent bystanders in this hatred) that makes us root against each other no matter the...

DONE DEAL Maryland to Big 10

GT opens up the Atlanta market for the BTN. Its not necessarily about fannies in the seats but about eyeballs and carriage rights for the BTN. Atlanta is a large TV market and has plenty of BIG alumni. This isn't being done in a vacuum with us internet lopers making decisions on uninformed...

DONE DEAL Maryland to Big 10

RU to BIG is a formality. RU BOG added a special closed door meeting to their scheduled meeting this morning. Announcement expected tomorrow. Next move being whispered is that the BIG will offer GT and give ND last chance option to move to 16. FSU and Clemson actively working to leave. Bash away...

    Paul Pasqualoni should just resign

Seems to be a northeast CFB disease. RU hires Shea, Syracuse get GRob, BC gets Spaziano, now UCONN gets PP. All bring down their programs that then takes years to repair. Paterno, may he rot in hell, was right about at least one thing. An AD should only get one football hire. We should all blame...

I have no idea where you got that. I have never posted on the Louisville Scout board. I came here for honest discussion and now you're flaming me. Feel free to look me up on RU's premium board where I go by the moniker, Scarletnut. Despite our rivalry, I have never even flamed you guys on that...

    Question, re: UCONN and expansion

Sorry, I don't have the link, but I believe it was a Hartford Courant article written by a writer named Jacobs who covers you guys. I may be wrong but I think that's where this talk originated from.
