Katz is still under contract to ESPN. ESPN is honoring his contract by still paying him. That contract a non-compete clause. ESPN is essentially paying him through the length of his contract to not to work for a competitor. This UConn work does not violate his contract. It keeps him in the...
Well, Rutgers is always gonna Rutgers because that's what they do. BTW, love the name of the Rutgers U Police Chief.
The Rutgers University police chief, who is somehow named Kenneth Cop, said he and his department issued citations to four people. Hobbs apparently arrived as they were being...
I guess the CR Board is as good a place as any to post this. There's only one G5 school to make the Top 15. Can you guess which one? Not BYU or Cincy or Houston or Memphis or Colorado State.
Best in College Sports: Oklahoma beats out North Carolina, Notre Dame in 2015-16
Basically, that 2004 UConn team did get the 2003 Syracuse squad twice during that season. Tony Robertson was the only senior of note lost off the 2003 Sweet 16 team. The 2003 UConn squad beat Syracuse 75-61 at the Civic Center and 80-67 in the Big East semis in MSG.

BAR ROOM DEBATE ALERT: Naturally, one of the Wooden UCLA teams was named the top-ranked champion, but it's interesting to see where the 4 UConn championship teams appeared in the...
And remember, this is just assessing value to UConn's football program (which is rebounding after a few down years under PP). We're not even factoring in the value of the rest of the Athletic Department, which would blow away the value some of those P5 schools that are "inside the club."
Despite what the Dude tells us about value & metrics, UConn ranks higher than many P5 schools like WVU, BC, Pitt, Louisville and Rutgers. We also rank higher than conference mates Cincy, Houston and Temple for what it's worth...
SI's Pete Thamel takes a long look at Big 12 expansion. Mentions UConn came up in a "surprising number of conversations considering its geography, lack of relevant football history and void of local recruiting."

Sorry for starting yet another Rutgers thread, but...

She forgot to mention their non-graduate men's head basketball Eddie Jordan. How could the RU athletic department write an official bio for Jordan claiming he graduated from the school when he didn't? Can't be that hard to confirm this with your own registrars office. (Though to be fair...
Interesting quote contained in this article from Clay Travis of Fox Sports and OutkicktheCoverage.com.
"According to Travis, who is also an attorney, the “grant of rights” for college football television is flimsy at best."

Now this Flugaur guy is "barking" right at The Boneyard.
Greg Fluguar @flugempire
I've been told a site is trying to connect the dots to my source. You are "barking" up the incorrect tree, but you are in the right forest.
Greg Fluguar @flugempire
If you publically "bark" up the correct tree I...
UConn referenced by one coach and alluded to by another.

Should football decide UConn's future? http://Post original url/1hu4DgI
IMHO, these SI editors have it all wrong! How do you compare membership in a Group of 5 conference vs. membership in a P5 conference without once addressing the vast disparity in annual TV payouts...
More controversy involving the RU Athletic Program. Another bullying scandal. More negative allegations against new AD Julie Hermann. More calls for her job. More accusations that RU President Barchi is sticking his head in the sand. Check out this editorial in today's Newark Star-Ledger...
I didn't say UVA was the better choice. In fact, I mention VA Tech in my reply to point out that either school would give the SEC Network an foothold in DC and the rest of the VA markets. I've spent a lot of time in VA. Outside of Clemson and FSU, Va Tech provides the most SEC-like game day...
I really don't get this comment. If UVA (or Va Tech) went to the SEC, they'd bring an opening in to the DC market as well as the 4 other TV markets in the Commonwealth. If it's UVA and UNC, it would give the SEC a presence in every one of the southeastern states. The SEC would love to get into...
FWIW - I was listening to Mike Francesa's show on Friday afternoon and I was very surprised to hear a UB commercial touting its New York Bulls Initiative (NYBI). I remember nearly spitting out my drink when I heard the narrator talk about UB's goal to bring "big-time intercollegiate athletics...
I kinda laughed too when I learned that Breitbart had a sports section, but I saw a link to this article on Twitter and started reading.
Though the article totally misses in the sense that it doesn't address the GoR, it does hit on some overarching themes that have been discussed here for...
Just passing this one along. This is all based off of an interpretation of the recently-released UNC emails.

The Dude is on a roll today. Says he's hearing B1G has its sights on TX & Mizzou to the B1G w/ OU & Vandy as the backup. Says the B1G would buy the Longhorn Network from ESPN. No word on the GoR for the B12. Paints scenario of the D4 conferences acting more like divisions than conferences...
Let's be fair here. I am a Husky, but UVA (and VT for that matter) have a presence in the NoVa/DC market. They also have a major presence in the 44th Market (Norfolk-Portsmouth-Newport News: 709,730), the aforementioned 57th Market (Richmond-Petersburg: 553,390), the 68th Market...
I wholeheartedly agree with this. Where was the Capital of the Confederacy? Richmond. Both of my parents were born in VA. I've got tons of family there. There are gray signs everywhere commemorating some battle or key moment during the Civil War. People still reference the War of...
