AWFULL!!...they defended the 3 all second half then, with 5 minutes left up 12 they stopped defending 3. This is the worst melt down IVE seen by UCONN in a very long time.
The timeout was called because Ollie stated, that the plan was to foul as soon as ball was caught. But, Memphis caught the ball near 3pt circle and that Nolan, wisely on his own, decided NOT to foul.
You guys are arguing over the last play,..about weather to foul..,yes we should of fouled and let them take it out again..but this game was lost way before this. Too much talent over Temple, it should not come down to one play.
UCONN shot 64% from the field and ONLY won by 9 pts. Its their defense that is the biggest problem!! UMASS Lowell shot 50 %.
Until they learn to play defense they will be an average team.
I believe it should be Adams in for Purvis as a starter, with Purvis still getting basically same minutes. It moves Gibbs off the point, which will be better for him and the team. Purvis can be an igniter off the bench. Also, Ollie needs to shorten his bench.
I would prefer Enoch over Nolan, also.
While the O-Line has improved slightly, from a year ago ,and will improve next yr, I still think we need new blood and more competition on O-line. We need to recruit better players there. The O-line was terrible last nite.
Football is the driving force...Lew Perkins knew this in 25 yrs ago when, he said we need to go D1 in Football. Yes, our football team is not good, now, but football is where the money is. The Big East is not a good fit anymore and wont take us. They are all catholic bball schools not a good...
I was at every game in 112, the real diehard passionate fans are all in the XL, unlike a reg season game, where big time donors take up best seats. Even, tough, not sold out the last few days, the atmosphere has been tremendous!!
