Was Florida State Screwed by the Committee?

The College Football playoff system is such a joke and makes it hard to take the sport seriously. The only sport that starts the year with 95% of their teams already eliminated from winning a national championship. In what world should a team that has won all their games not even get a chance to...

    Transfers - Outbound (8/1/22>7/31/23 cycle)

Have some patience...this is going on at every program. Colorado just had something like 12 players enter the portal yesterday including 2 or 3 of their top WRs as well as their top DB recruit. Think about that for a second...Deion Sanders couldn't keep a top DB recruit committed.

    Transfers - Outbound (8/1/22>7/31/23 cycle)

Just seems odd that everyone is acting like we just lost the next Justin Jefferson with him leaving. Seems to me that after going through Spring ball that the role was not what he expected and now wants a new start. Will be interesting though to see where he lands.

    Transfers - Outbound (8/1/22>7/31/23 cycle)

Honest question, if we didn't have all those injuries at the WR position last year would AT have even played as much as he did? Did all the other guys coming back healthy make him realize he wouldn't be main guy again and that made him look elsewhere?

    Tristen Newton Declaring for Draft

Don't understand the concern about guys leaving. Go look at our roster chart from last year at this time. I think we had about 6 players on it until all the new guys committed. Every other team in America is also having roster turnover.

    Updated Grid

If Andre is in the grid while we wait for his official decision, then shouldn't Newton be listed in the grid also?

    Hassan Diarra

I thought I even saw Newton say "my bad" to Diarra on the replay when they were helping Newton back up after being fouled. Think this is a non issue.

    Akok not on the bench?

May not be the case any more but he watched previous games from the locker room because he needed to keep his foot elevated at times. This would obviously be impossible to do from the bench.

    Pikiell vs Hurley

Hard to compare at this point. Pikiell is in his 4th season at Rutgers while Hurley is obviously in year 2. Rutgers was 15-18(3-15) and 15-19(3-15) his first 2 years. Was also under .500 in year 3 but now this year they are seeing some success. Hurley is off to a similar start in his first 2...

    Hurley/Gilbert

Were you following the team early in the year before this particular take? Gaffney was hurt to start the year and was not physically able to play all these minutes you are saying Hurley should have given him.

    Let the kids play!

I grouped them together mainly to just show how inefficient our back court has been this year. When you have a 2 seniors playing the lead guard roles you expect a much higher level of play. For us to be good they need to be good and lead us which is just not happening. At this point there is no...

    Let the kids play!

Went back and looked at the numbers over the last 4 games of our starting senior guards. They have combined to go 36/98(37%), 8/39(21%) from 3 and 23 assists to 26 turnovers. You are not going to win many games with your main ball handlers playing this way. This is wildly inefficient and at this...

    RJ Cole Expectations

Bet Cole doesn't miss 6 FTs. We are getting an upgrade at PG next year.

    What a home job

Make a god damn free throw and nothing matters. If there is a way to lose this team finds it.

How many 4* recruits does Hurley need to not lose to USF?

That 92 number did seem off for Akok as I remember it being much higher. I took those rankings straight from 247 but even at 92 I think its clear that Hurley is consistently bringing in top 100 talent vs what was recruited in previous years. The results will follow.

How many 4* recruits does Hurley need to not lose to USF?

I went back and looked at the kids Ollie brought in that are still on the team vs kids Hurley brought in and compared rankings from 247: Player(247 ranking) Ollie kids AG(32) CV(166) Polley(168) Carlton(178) Whaley(NR) Wilson(89) Hurley kids Akok(92) Bouk(66) gaffney(105) Adams(178) Right...

OT: Arizona Wildcats facing 'potentially significant sanctions and penalties,' UA attorney says

I am sure the NCAA will slap them on the wrist and then ban us from the Tourney for scheduling them.

Jim Calhoun helps save St. Joes.

I truly believe without the success of BOTH basketball programs on the national stage the legislators would have never believed UConn could reach these levels as a school.

Opinion: Jim Delany's 2020 retirement could open door to College Football Playoff expansion (Wolken - USA Today)

I have been saying this same thing as well. Unfortunately it makes way too much sense so it will never happen.

    Enoch vs Duke

This is why we needed to move on and bring in Hurley. The fact that Enoch, Jackson and Durham all left to develop elsewhere was a clear sign there were major issues in this program at that time.

    UConn section @ UCF game?

I will also be in attendance but up in section 206 as I just grabbed cheapest ticket to get in the building. Any BYers meeting up anywhere prior to the game?

    We need to face reality

Just focus on the 3 players actually rated inside top 100 on the roster. Jalen clearly has not improved like a 4 year player should. I put that on poor player development and poor culture in the program. The other 2 players are basically playing their first year of college basketball.

    We need to face reality

Here are the rankings for each player in their respective class: Jalen - 23 Alterique - 32 Sid - 89 Vital - 166 Polley - 168 Carlton - 178 B Adams - 180 T Smith - 278 Cobb - NR Whaley - NR There is a serious lack of talent on this roster. How can any of us be surprised that we are struggling...

    Funniest/weirdest UConn fan story?

Best UConn memory for me is easily the 2002 Big East Championship. It was my freshman year and a few of us scrapped any money we had and traveled down to NYC to watch the Semi Final against Notre Dame. UConn wins and we all decide on the ride home we need to go back for Championship game. One of...

    Whose Fault is the D?

Dicko is the man to blame. He recruited FCS players the last couple years and now we are paying the price. We are easily the youngest team in the country. We are starting 11 underclassmen on defense right now. How is it possible that not a single upperclassmen can beat out all the...

    Apologista 2.0

This right here. Diaco would have lost these games just as badly but would have got in front of the fanbase fed all of us a bunch of BS and acted like he is the smartest guy in the room. Dude was a straight looney tune and look how bad his defenses have performed at his next jobs. It may be...

    OT: Obi waived by Raiders

Life time Raiders fan and was really rooting for Obi to shine with my Raiders. Unfortunately the Raiders had to do something as he couldn't even get on the practice field in 2 years. Can't use up a valuable roster spot on a player that is not participating in anything. Hope he makes it to the...

    Favorite UCONN moment

There are so many great ones but my favorite is Taliek's 2OT Big East Tourney Championship Half Court Jumper!! Was during my freshman year and we scrapped all the money we had to get to NYC and buy tickets to game. Got to MSG when the windows opened and managed to get decent tickets somehow...

    AD Dave on Kevin Ollie

You cant understate the what the APR ban and recruiting sanctions did to the program. Not only did we get limited scholarships, time out recruiting, etc but a big factor I don't see a lot of people talking about was our ban was announced in the summer before the season started so in addition we...

    AD Dave on Kevin Ollie

This whole idea that KO is a bad coach is so funny to me. When he had an experienced team that could run his system we won the whole damn thing. Take a look at the past few national champions and I think you can see a pattern: 2016 - Nova - Almost every key player was Jr/Sr 2015 - Duke - Team...

    UConn (+7.5)

We also didn't have Jalen the first time we played them. Last time we played them we were still trying to recover from all the injuries and then we lose our best player on top of it. We are a different team than that last game so I am cautiously optimistic but we are on the road and that's never...

    Calling all apologizers

Love how Rex called himself a "true fan" while bashing the team as soon as things looked tough. I am glad I don't have to be around you when times get tough or some adversity comes at you. Assuming you would collapse like Cuse in March. This year was always going to be a bit of a transition...

    Perspective

Sure Wagner and Northeastern to start the year were bad losses but this just makes my point. Considering our roster going into the year consisted of 8 of 11 scholarship players being a freshman/sophomore we needed the seniors to lead this team from the start. They are clearly not capable of that...

    Perspective

Ollie took over a program that was in the middle of dealing with recruiting limitations from the APR crap and was lucky to get a group of guys that stuck together for 4 years. When given a team of experienced guys who could run his system he beat the likes of John Calipari, Billy Donovan, Tom...
