OT: Hartford Athletics Possible Drop to D3

Was worried for second. Thought it was related to the soccer team.

Fordham Opening : Kimani would make a lot of sense.

Fordham grad here. Great school but an absolute graveyard for basketball coaches.

This group also lacks big game experience.

    Metallica Appreciation Thread

Probably attended 20+ Metallica gigs in the 90s. First show I went to in Upstate New York I literally thought I was going get killed in the crowd. Then the shows quickly started turning into family entertainment.

    Realistic Expectations This Season

NCAA tournament is a minimum. Hopefully Sweet 16.

    PAC 12

I am really surprised how the conferences and universities are framing this by focusing on the health of the student athletes. To me it seems much more the logistical challenges of crisscrossing the country during the pandemic (testing, quarantining, isolating, etc.) and the risks to the...

UConn: Cancelling 2020 Season An Option? (Updated 8/5 to yes)

Does this mean Edsall gets an extra year?

Looks like the San Jose St. game this year might be off.

    UConn GOAT Bracket

There is definitely an "NBA bump" for the likes of Rudy Gay, Andre Drummond and perhaps even Ray Allen (I would argue Emeka should be a 1 seed instead).

    UConn GOAT Bracket

Tyler Olander got royally screwed by the selection committee!

Early Look at 2020-2021 from VU Hoops

No, the opposite. Think we are expecting too much too soon from DH and we need to be patient.

Early Look at 2020-2021 from VU Hoops

Interesting to note that Jay Wright has been the VU coach for 18 seasons. Took him 4 years to get a VU team into the NCAAs. 8 years for a Final Four and 15 for a NC.

    UConn's commitment to Independence?

Give me a potential scenario. Would love to dream.

    UConn's commitment to Independence?

I have little hope of getting into a major conference, but I will say that memories are extremely short in the sports world. If UConn has a few strong seasons in football, combined with men's basketball returning to elite status, UConn would be as attractive as anyone in potential realignments.

    Is The Business Handshake Dead?

Namaste is the best substitute for the handshake. Surprised it hasn't gotten more traction.

OT: Transferring money to the US

Honestly there are no ideal options and you're bound to lose a nice chunk of cash on fees and exchange rates. I use Transferwise as its easy and the rates tend to be the most competitive. Usually the likes of WU, MoneyGram are the worst options - that's why they target migrant workers and are...

Favorite UConn Hype and Highlight Videos

This was my favorite National Championship run. Close shave against SJU. Then stuffing an over-hyped Villanova. MSG wins against heavy favorites ISU and MSU. Then beating the overall #1 seed Florida and capping it off with a victory over Cal's Kentucky.

    So What's Next?

Can’t see turnaround happening under RE. Will be more of the same next year, so might as well change things this year. A coach winning at the MAC, CUSA,Sunbelt level fine with me. Actually think we need someone who comes from a smaller program as they will know how to be more resourceful. A big...

Singapore Air Prem econ v. Air China biz class?

I’ve flown both many times and I’d go with SQ. The 9 hour layover in PEK negates whatever extra comfort Air China biz seats may provide. Overall Air China has average service and amenities.

    Upperclassman Guards

AG and Vitale were 4-25 and that does not even tell half the story of their ineptitude during this game! Bouknight needs to replace Vitale as a starter. AG needs to be on short leash with Gaffney or Adams as substitutes
  30. uconNYC

    Time to bench AG

And misses quite a few layups too.

OT: Im headed to the Grand Canyon. What would you suggest i see there?

The walk along the South Rim (starting point at the visitors center) all the way to the South Kaibab Trail head is very nice. My two young kids and I hiked down the trail to the Ooh La La Point and then returned. Great day out.

Will Hartford Athletic ever win a game?

What gives me hope is that it does seem like the club has a bit of a following. The crowd is not just packed with youth soccer teams and guys wearing Messi, Ronaldo and Neymar jerseys. Hopefully ticket prices will be ironed out next season and stadium will continue to be improved down the road -...
